In a sense that you find upgrades and skills which enable you to access new areas, yes, but it's plagued by bad gameplay mechanics and enemies that deal waaay too much damage while having no knockback or wind-up between attacks. And it's not complete, they had to rush the release because the publisher made them to, it's missing some content and is bound for quite a few patches.
It crashes when i reach the menu screen .

And yes, the game is really hard. it's nothing from gameplay, but it needs to be balanced
