[Oculus Users] For anyone that gets hit with a black screen on startup, what fixed it for me was installing "SteamVR" on top of "Oculus Client". Basically you'll want to use SteamVR as your game launcher rather than Oculus. Once you get SteamVR's virtual home environment working (along with Oculus Client running in the background), that's when you should be able to run "Launcher_x64.exe". This also fixed other games that I had trouble with, such as Duck Season and Job Simulator. Cheers!
Just open Steam and click VR at the top right. Once you're in and all set up from the tutorial you're good to go. Start up oculus home software first, then run steam VR.
For those of you crashing here's how to fix (while we wait for update)
Disclaimer this is a VR game don't try play without a VR headset using a emulator or some shit it will be very disappointing.
Download SmartSteamEmu (here's a link I am supplying http://www.filedropper.com/smartsteamemu142_3 all you can do is trust is my word so if you can't trust me just try find it somewhere else online (pretty annoying trying to find a newer version))
Extract it anywhere preferably in it's own folder as it has a config file and you don't want it conflicting with anything else.
Open SSELauncher no need for administrative rights at least in my case.
Click on file and add game, locate the executable of the game "RickAndMortyVR" and click Open.
Enter the Game App Id being "469610" and click Save. Now just launch the game from SmartSteamEmu Launcher and enjoy. I was able to play through the whole game without any problems whatsoever except I opened SteamVR through steam before launching the game as I use Oculus Rift and my SteamVR kept displaying HTC Vive devices and it worked perfectly.
Guys I'm using steamvr for my HTC vive. When I launch this game, steamvr doesn't recognize it so the game launches as standard non vr game and I can't get it to work. Is there something I have to force? I'm new to the whole vr world but so far every other game worked well. I've also tried with steamEmuLauncher but it just gives me the same error as Savvy "the target and startin folder point to the correcxt path and folder"
Don t work. Game is running but its seems like the games don t recognise my controllers, i can't close the and or doing another action like that. i've got en oculus rift s on en windows 10
I have a Samsung Odyssey and I got it to work by going into steam and adding the launcher64 as a non steam game. Then searching for launcher64 in my steam library and then playing from within steam. Had to recalibrate my headset after though.
Does it actually require Intel cpu? Tried it with vive+ryzen, included launcher and other 2, won't run here. I disconnected the net and tried windows 8 compat.
nvm, finally got it. I used the SmartSteamEmu 1.4.3 launcher from syahmixp's post(which might be the same as this release), and added the life support plugin recommended by him on the forum, no compatibility setting required. Have to check no vr processes are up before launching, in my case I had to terminate vrserver.exe between launches.
For HTC Vive users that crash in the living room, or a set time after starting the game, disconnect your internet. Steam tries to sync the game and forces it to shut down if it cannot verify what it is online. Works for most VR games.
The game crashes every 10 minutes or so. Anything i can do to fix this? I dont seem to be the only one having a problem with this. I have tried running as administator, and my PC is very VR ready
I think you're referring to the Rick and Morty anti-April Fools joke right? Bcuz the announcement date for season 3 is April 1 and I'm guessing your joke is suppose to be the same as the announcement If not then it doesn't matter...
relax, every game in igg starts like this, they go threw A LOT of games every day, and that takes time! it will be uploaded when it will be uploaded, (very soon)
