You might think you've tried, because this method is almost exactly the same as the usual method, but just copying these specific files in exactly the way as described worked perfectly for me after I'd tried copying all four files before. Make sure you're only copying the 2 files, and that they're from the rift standard bypass folder. Also make certain you're copying them into the right folder, there's one with a chronos exe, but then in that there's another folder that you have to navigate to to get to the proper chronos-win64-shipping exe.
I swear man this works, I had the exact same issue as you, but if you do exactly as described in this post it should work as it does with me.
