What the hell ??? @_@ Do I really have to explain what a false positive is? The method used to crack games is similar to the method used to code malware! Anti-virus programs will detect the crack as a virus and delete it, even though it isn’t! :)
I think you should download this game from elsewhere, then test it, and you will also say they are horrible :) . I bet you, most of the current websites are using the same version as me, the same source.

Go to: https://steamworkshopdownloader.io, and put your link there, for example: Then download it (Make sure its a ZIP File), and open your Wallpaper Engine file location, then go to Projects > Defaultprojects, create a new folder and make sure you rename it to your wallpaper's name, drag your wallpaper in there (ZIP File), and extract it. You can delete the ZIP File now if you want. After all that, go back to your Wallpaper Engine and enjoy your new wallpaper!
Please check if those wallpaper need addon from another workshop. Some wallpaper will going to black screen if you aren't download the addon like customizable module visualizer and perfect wallpaper steam.

It looks like some files for Wallpaper Engine could not be installed. This can happen due to download errors in Steam or anti-virus programs falsely detecting files and causing problems. If you have an anti-virus besides Windows Defender, make sure that it does not interfere with Steam and Wallpaper Engine. Make sure the application is closed while updating (close through tray icon or Task Manager if necessary) and no anti-virus is preventing your computer from working correctly. If your anti-virus deleted files of Wallpaper Engine, you need to restore them and whitelist the path of Wallpaper Engine so the anti-virus stops deleting random files.

aight, u wanna first go to the wallpaper engine workshop on the BROWSER not the steam app, next search up steam workshop downloader and u should see steamworkshopdownloader . io. once in there pop back in the workshop, find a wallpaper u like or multiple, copy their url's (the links) and feed them one at a time on the workshop downloader. thats about it, btw u can do this with other games for instance rimworld
download winrar or 7zip if u don't have either already, open the files u downloaded from the workshop and extract the folders into /wallpaper_engine/projects/defaultprojects (wallpaper_engine is the root folder aka where ur executable of the program is located aka where u find wallpaper.exe to open the program). if they don't immediately appear in the program main page just restart the app edit:- if it don't come all packed in a nice folder and all the files are loose when you download from workshop just make a folder in the directory i gave u and extract the files into it
Put them in the Projects->Defaultprojects, and extract them there, you can also add new wallpaper by download them from workshop manually and add them there

Yeah MegaUp is safe just dont click ads. I usually use MegaUp if Google links are down and If both are down I don't download at all. I just use their torrent site as a last option.
How do I fix this; whenever I open my computer the wallpaper engine does start, but it always goes to the "welcome to wallpaper engine" like I just opened the program for the first time. The help is much appreciated.
This download is for an earlier version of wallpaper engine, and adding steam workshop wallpapers wont work here. the links are working, you just need to click download again after the first time and it will open the right window. if anyone need help with this reply me :)

you don't seem to get my point the latest build on steam is 1.3 and this is 1.09 i found a 1.1 build elsewhere but if you download wallpapers that is made on more updated versions it's not gonna work. it might show the picture but there will be no effects.
gdrive, mega, rapidgator, tusfiles, and owndrives. all of the ones i tried, none have the file.only one that worked (so far) is uptobox, and that one's saying hotlinking is not allowed. edit: uploaded gives me this error: "This file exceeds the max. filesize which can be downloaded by free users. If you still want to download this file, we advise you to buy a premium product."
the only download that worked was multiup by using the 1fichier link. (or whichever is "valid" within the last day that doesn't have a randomly generated number between (parentheses))
it's slow as hell though compared to http://mega.co or google drive, both of those give you unlimited speed that in my case is 37 mb/s- almost instant..

Sometimes IGG stuffs do screw up your system... Like preventing you from logging into system (i.e. GTA 4 -- Dangerous level: high) or deleting your system fonts upon uninstalling a game (i.e. Left 4 dead -- Dangerous level: severe). But most of the times it's okay

1024 is NOTHING my pc has 8 gigs, and ram is used up when you are using the app. It is constantly running moving images, so iit uses a lot of ram like videos and games.
I'm really suprised this title hasn't been updated here since it's massively popular. The date structure on this is false, saying released Nov 2018, that may be scraped data when it left early access? However, this build was released "Build 1.0.959 released 20 /11/2017" and come such a long way. 4 gig pack?? For 2 year old material scraped from Workshop then? As of May 2019, current build is Build 1.1.174. 400 meg dl and uses a newer SDK making pretty much anything incompatible on the workshop if you're using a 2 year old build. I had tried this version awhile back and remember it being a headache to get stuff working. It's so cheap I still had something left on my steam wallet and went for it. OH MY GOSH, the workshop integration is so amazing. Constantly new content and 1 click integration subscribing to a wallpaper kit. People aren't joking it's the best 4 bucks/euro you'll ever spend. Try before you buy here, sure.. but I'm glad this thing was so outdated forcing me to look at current steam page.
I remember I had this error for another app. All you have to do is install an AIO Runtimes installer. Make sure they are compatible with your computer.

use the torrent then on your p2p program (like µtorrent, freetorrentviewer,...) just unselect the "WORKSHOP PACK" befor starting the download, you can even just download the one you want edit: freetorent viewer don't have this ability, but torrent tornado ("old firefox" addon) have it.
How to install the workshop content? If I simply unpack the files and drag and drop them into WallpaperEngine I end up with a trillion of index.html, project.json or scene.pkg files with no thumbnails (with many of them not working in the first place), which isn't really usable. Does anyone know how to get it right?

I could go one by one (no drag 'n drop), but I still end up with a non descriptive index.html (or other generic filename) with no thumbnail. :( Am I doing it wrong?
Inside the Rar file named with a bunch of numbers there should be the same numbers as normal folders. Put those into the default projects not the stuff inside them

after unzip, _commonredist - install directx (disable antivirus first before install ) then install vcredist ( install both if using 64-bit os ) and finally _runtime, install vcredist ( both if using 64-bit os ). try run wallpaper32/64. good luck and have fun

You can download the .dl files from http://dillfiles.com . Or you can google the one you need. I do this all the time, trust me it works. I have an older computer without directx and this method fixes just about everything.

Download the file, extract your zip file of wallpaper engine, then open the imp (downloaded stuff) and paste the steam dlls into the bin folder. Then install. I dont know which of these steam files fixes it so I gave all of it
