if youre getting the openal error search "OpenAL32.dll download" and go to dlldownloader. com which is what worked for me
also for the No Sound try opening the Common Redist file and opening the OpenAL and install that and boom should have sound
if any of this in at the bottom credit goes to those below but im bring it up for easier search for everyone

ok so i just installed Disgaea2 on the pc and when i open it i don't hear any sound even if my options are full and the characters don't have dialogue boxes when they talk. How can i solve that?-

my Disgaea2 is played on nintendoDS stimulator. Is this another ver or something?

It crashes at startup after playing the metal gear sound when you're discovered. Weird... The same is happening with disgaea 1.
