Hi, I got it working!! What i did was: after extracting the files, i tried to run the exe, but it gave me two separate missing dll files. Look those dll files online, download them and put them in the game folder (in x32, not x64 ime). THen it gave me a directx error; Go to the folder's directX folder and run DIRECTXSETUP and after that it runs perfectly :D
Happened to me to quite often the thing that I did that fixed the issue was to either disable my antivirus, run it as an admin and allow the exe on windows defender

Then i tried to run the game but it gave me a directx error; So I go to the game folder's directX folder and run DIRECTXSETUP and after that it runs perfectly :D
Heeyyy i got a question.... when i run the mb_warband file (i assume thats the game application as its the only application file i found labeled anything close to the game name), nothing happens.... mouse changes to loading icon but nothing else... when checking my task manager it seems the game runs a 32 bit version somewhere in the background... anyone with the same issue or a fix? or an explenation if im being a dummy (wouldnt be the first time) any help would be appreciated :)
Welp any fix?. I already did anything i find on google. But still not working. We have same problem btw. FYI 5 years ago i can play this sh*t fine smoothly. But now idk why it's just didn't work.
Can someone clarify what the updates does do they add content or are they all purely bug fix patches? and what versions are most of the mods compatible with? Thanks

I am encountering an error when I try to open the game (mb_warband.exe). The error is "The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_42.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem". I have reinstalled (even re-downloaded the whole file) the game thrice now and still get the same problem. Does anyone have a fix for this???
Unfortunately this is still considered one of the worst games ever created. Don't bother wasting your time. It only become popular in 2010 with a small group that was desperate for a medieval game.

I've been playing this game for years. Ignore him, he was probably expecting something casual with next gen graphics or AAA BS. This is a very popular and fun game. Youtube has thousands of videos and it has a lot of mods too, including a popular Game of Thrones mod.
Yes I agree if you love war and siege like games this is for you and its something that wont blow up your computer but if your looking for graphics get the new one bannerlord which is also good
Hey, so I think I've found a bug but I'm not quite sure. Usually I play with mods, but it also happens in vanilla. When you play for about 120-150 days in game, suddenly when you open the game it gets screwed up and the save file is deleted. Oh, and by screwed up I mean that the graphic options get glitchy and change
I keep getting an error when trying to open the game, it says that d3dx9_42.dll was not found, iv'e reinstalled it countless times, yet I still run into this problem.
Why does people are so DUmb?? You just need to Download it...And wait till it finish then if there's a Serial or password Thing appeared then you downloaded a wrong link....If you got a problem with thing.....Check the requirements.....If you have Direct 10+ then download 9 or 7..if there is really a key..then check youtube and search it....You can find a lot of serial keys..Dummies..
Try running the game in admin mode...you can right click on the game shortcut on the desktop [[[if theres not one, you can simply make one by right clicking on the game's icon in its installation folder and then press "send to" and select "desktop"]]] when you've right clicked on it, hit properties and go to compatibility tile at the top then tick the "run this program as administrator"..after that click on "change settings for all users" then tick "run this program as administrator"..then hit "apply" then "okay" then go to game shortcut, right click on it and select "run as administrator"...and BOOM it should work!!! I hope this fixes you problem bc a lot of programs on PCs or laptops need to be run in this mode so that it could function properly :) Kind regards>>Ghosty :)
Did you download an exe file? When opening the exe, did you get a rar file, or am I missing something? If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.
it seems i accidentally downloaded an ad right after my link was ready. Sorry for the trouble, it downloads fine just now. Btw is this the latest version of the game? Because i have been finding for the latest version from different sources and all of them has different take on the version. Thanks
Go to to your anti-virus program and find an option to exempt a file. Click it and add the steam.api.dll file in the exception box. In this way you can have your anti-virus active while being able to play the cracked game or any cracked game as long as you do the same thing. Cheers! :)
Turn off your "realtime protection" go to your antivirus. Do that first before extracting. Then never turn it on again just be careful when you download files.
Well, the game is cool... But what's the point of putting DLC Napoleonic Wars in if the multiplayer does not work, but this DLC is exclusively multiplayer... So what's the point?

I happen to cross upon some problem... Mount and Blade (Classic) GOG runs just fine, but the others have a trouble prompt saying, "Application has generated an exception that cannot be handled. Process id=0xef6f61, Thread id= (something)" P.S. These id's changes each time I press them....
Be careful, it asks for serial key for multiplayer (both online & lan). So with this version you can only play single player. Better to know this fact.
This is a gog game with need of a key, as warband is especially for multi (lan and online) it's way better to tell the truth. Otherwise it makes lose time to people for... nothing. Warband is multi, this is it.
Yes, you'll have to get the mods and other stuff from 3rd party sites like moddb, nexusmods, etc. I've gotten the standalone verison of M&B Warband (Just Warband and none of the other M&Bs with it) and i got mods to work, as well as a few models. Here i made a little check list for others.
Download the mod you want to install.
Extract the files Using a file extractor such as 7-Zip (Download 7-Zip file extractor), right-click the file and choose ‘Extract Here’, or open it with your extraction program and extract that way.
Copy extracted files to Warband’s Modules folder. For Steam users: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/mountblade warband/Modules, or C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/mountblade warband/Modules For non-Steam users: C:/Program Files/Mount and Blade Warband/Modules, or C:/Program Files/TaleWorlds/Mount and Blade Warband/Modules
Start Mount and Blade: Warband and check the Modules drop-down box for the mod you installed. For The Textures, and Models, thats harder to explain. Hope This Helps A Few people with mod installing.
