A fix for people who are getting black screen at startup, it is recommended to download all the mods given by 07th-Mod which also in my case fix the black screen. link where i downloaded the mods: https://07th-mod.com/wiki/Umineko/Umineko-Part-1---Voice-and-Graphics-Patch/ It seems that the graphics mod 1080p fixes the black screen, I'm not sure though.

Okay so like many others I was having the black screen problem, and I sort of fixed it? I also have the answers arc downloaded, and it has no problems, so I was looking between the files for this, and the files for the answers arc, to see what the difference might be, to see if that could help me solve the problem. I noticed a few different bits and bobs that Answers had, that Questions was missing, and copied each one individually into Questions to see if any of them were the solution, and low and behold!! I found something that had an effect! when I copied "arc.nsa" into the main questions folder, opening the game actually showed the title screen instead of just a black screen! And I did check this against how Answers looks when started up, it's not the same screen, so I didn't overwrite part of the game I don't think. However, when clicking start, there's no starting chapter, only locked tabs and clicking them to unlock them does change the title screen, but none of the new menu options do anything. Also, before unlocking anything, clicking Configure on the main title screen (before clicking Start) only leads to another black screen. So my conclusion is I definitely didn't fix anything lmao My theory is the reason it did anything is because there is some kind of nsa file (or files) missing from the download? But the reason it didn't really fix anything is because obviously the "arc.nsa" file from the Answers Arc download, are not the ones needed in the Questions Arc download. Anyone else have any other ideas on how to fix this?? Or if I'm right, and it's missing files, does anyone have a download for those missing files?
yes just download the mod, it is from " 07th expansion ", it will fix everything by files from the game in ps3 - i am not sure about files - google it i hope you can fix it.
Please fix the game. I am only getting a blank screen. I did all the necessary steps but still a blank screen. FYI higurashi works with no issues and many other games downloaded from igg works fine except this one. please fix..
You're joking right? The english translation script in the versions you linked are outdated from 2013 and not as accurate as the steam version of the games (which the same team had to update because it was an official release on steam and no longer just a 3rd party fan translation), And for your information it's very easy to add ps3 sprites to the versions on this site, so the links you posted are completely useless.
Well, considering the strength of the original script, what really has changed? Have you played the FanTS? I'd strongly doubt that much had changed, if anything at all. Maybe a few honorifics and various filler text, some grammar mistakes. No big deal. Completely useless still means an accurate telling of the story and it is the one that I read. I can assure you that no revelation would be revealed within this text, that wasn't in the original. You sound like a localizationfag or something. It's really silly. The story is still the story, and the fact that you had to post on something a year old is just as ridiculous. I've even read the fan discs and what remained of the Black Battler storyline, which would have been the best out of them all had Ryu07 given a damn. Get a hobby, the people who played this version would have already played it by now - one year ago.

Umineko When They Cry is standalone from the Higurashi When They Cry games. Technically, they are connected, but you can read Umineko without HAVING to read Higurashi. It's recommended, but not required. Also everyone should read this, it's AMAZING.
