they definitely improved the fighting massively, but in my opinion there are SO many aspects I loved in the first one that are either mostly or completely missing now.
Arkham is extremely linear compared to Innsmouth, 5 hours into the game (and exploring everything) I have not found a single side mission and only 1 - 2 secrets in each map/area, there is barely any investigating and the mind palace with the clues is completely obsolete, cause the few riddles in the game are so trivial that the only reason to connect clues is to get talent points.
It's not a bad game by any means, but not what I was excited for from a sequel to an eldrich investigation game
gotta say, didn't quite like this. It's like it wanted to be resident evil, but didn't quite capture the action part well enough.
Enemies were just kind of annoying to face, and there is way too much running around the same map because you were unlocking keys in bits and pieces all over the place. Which made it feel more like a filler than anything.
I feel like the first game was a little rough around the edges but not bad, a decent foundation to build on. Hopefully they kept what was good in the first and fixed or just removed what wasn't good in this one.
You will be disappointed then. This game is totally different than the first game...it's more like a Resident Evil or Evil Within but without a lot of cool features. It feels bad and outdated honestly, they totally killed the freeroam and the reflexion part of the first game. It's a real shame.
Well, damn...that kinda sucks. I already got Requiem, don't need more Resident Evil; wanted more of what the first game was doing fairly well. Ah well...it's free, can't complain too much.
We getting some hot monster action?
