As the game doens't work / doesn't launch ... I've reinstalled version 1.1.6811 and I copied and pasted all files from version 1.1.6814 inside 1.1.6811 folder : result --> that works and in the game I can see : game version 1.1.6814 ;)
so you just play the older version? I mean, if you replace all the newer version with the older ones it's nothing more than just the old version you're playing. Or did I miss something here?
I don't know if you updated this game since last time i downloaded it or not(atm its v1.1.6814) but it doesn't want to open for some reason,opens it in background,i see it in task manager and then after about 10 seconds it closes itself down. This game could be interesting if there were invaders or raiding parties such as vikings landing raids. As is, it feels quite a boring town management sim.

Edit v3: (v.1.1.6623) Found a work around on the crash issue: Start a new game, doesn't matter what the settings are, then after the game has loaded, immediately load the recent save or autosave. Works perfectly. Just have to remember not to go 10x speed, causes the game to crash. Also, a weird glitch popped up wherein placing a fish farm in a specific location hangs the game up.
Hi there, Why I can't pasture the Cow and Pigs? I only see Chickens. I saw in youtube there is a Cow and Pigs pasture. Is this removed in this version?

Build the dock, build a boat, order it to search one of three things: new trees, new crops, or new animals. Then load the boat with supplies for the journey. Expedition takes about a full year. Take note, the expedition can fail and you will lose the boat, forcing you to make another one and load it with supplies again, so only do this if you have a surplus of goods, especially pies.
all you need to do is installing Microsoft Visual c++ 2015. if the installation didn't work or finish with error, try to update your windows. you can also watch video about MSVCP140.dll error in youtube.

.rar files are like boxes where you store data. People use it because it reduces file size, and it's easier to upload one bigger file than a thousand small ones. To extract this file, you need programs like WinRAR (which is free and who doesn't use it), or 7ZIP (a bit less popular because of how it's UI looks, but it's also good). I use WinRAR, for example. All I need to do is right click and click the "Extract Here" to extract it to the current folder the file is in, or "Extract files...", select where you want to extract it. From there, fallow the tutorials here on the website and you are ready to go ^^
To anyone having the "you need directx 11 video card": That DOESN'T mean you don't have directx 11. That means you DON'T have a GRAPHICS CARD supporting DIRECTX 11

in what OS do you play it? Win7 or Win8? I got some crashes too in Win8, but i can prevent it before happening by seeing at my chicken coop or building active icon, if they are gone(there's no chickens, you can only see the chickens' shadows or the building you paused didn't show the paused icon) then it's time to save and re-open the game.
Yeah, I've faced the lag too. But didn't really realize it, the animation for the moving villagers are just blinking. I've had 40 villagers already yet no cow pasture T.T

it means you need new specs or upgrade your laptop/computer to a new hardware, this game not lag though just recommended is 4GB and minimum is 2GB, it does not lag at all, maybe you use your cpu too much or you can reduce your settings to low and resolution..if your game keep crashing it mean you have problem with your hardware
you need to make port at first.. (alot of resources needed) then build a ship at the port (alot of resources needed) then you need resources to send an away to the get a cow ( u need bakeriess for this..u need fish pie vege pie and meat pie) then you wait them to come back ... and u get a pasture.. u need a blacksmith to make the good quality tools too,,u need 10 of them I took around 20 year to get to it :)

i think the problem is when you terraform your land it make it unaccessible ? or else it`ll be just a bug i guess try building it at somewhere else and see the result :) ?
XD it's a bug. I've read the steam forum , a few players are facing with this problem too, still no resolve or reason for this bug. My sister (using other save) can run the windmill smoothly just like this game's never had any problem at all. Going to try building other windmill tomorrow x_X

actually, banished with colonial charter and/or new medieval town is much more in terms of buildings, animals, crops, industries. this seems to have a more detailed 3D engine/graphics.
Banished with those mods isn't even Banished any longer. It's a weird hybrid of out of sync building mods from mismatched eras and countries to silly monuments and fountains that would never be built outside of a large city. I left that game behind as Red Ketchup just keeps making more ridiculous badly conceived expansions. His swooning fans just egg him on with no thought to good design and implementation. Meh.
You're right about mods changing vanilla Banished into something else, but you're making a criticism of one modder as if it represents all of them. In any case, neither game is restricted to a very specific time period or "country," since both are somewhat generic, so that's besides the point. More to the issue, the similarities are beyond "superficial" since they both have nearly the exact same buildings with the same functions, same manual allocation of workers, reproduction limited by housing, etc (the list goes on...) Like I said, the only major difference is the graphical engine (and tedious terraforming perhaps).
1 thing is different ..banished stopped development and this is still on going.. It could be much more better :) No1 dont stop a game from improving :)

it says the program cant start because (MSVCP140.dll) is missing from your computer. try reintally the program to fix this problem.
you can also manually download MSVCP140.dll from google :)
