I've seen some reviews on youtube and the average opinion is that the game is Mediocre at best.

The game isn't for me (too hard, boring looking characters and world) but this is not true.

The game has a 92/93% on OpenCritic and MetaCritic, and it got a 10 on IGN and pretty much every site has given it a high score. It looks boring and uninteresting to me, but I also do not see where you are hearing this opinion since all I do is follow gaming YouTube and read gaming forums, and it is positive across the board.

I don't trust those sites, I only listen to independent youtubers and if someone (anyone) gives a 10/10 to any game, that person or site just lost my respect.

No game is perfect so no game deserves a 10/10.

just play the damn game, no one cares who you choose to listen to and not listen to. Your opinion is completely invalid either way because you're just taking someone else's word for it

Or I can just analize the gameplay videos on youtube (or the trailer on steam) to see that the game is painfully mediocre.

But you just said you aren't analyzing anything. You're just taking someone else's word with arbitrary restrictions to justify your worldview lol. You also said average opinion is that it's mediocre, which is just not true. It's doing gangbusters. That's all the original person was responding to you about. You can't prove that wrong.

I said "l isten to", I never said I follow people blindly and those "independent youtubers" I mentioned show a lot of gameplay on any of their reviews, also the game IS terribly mediocre and that won't change just because some retards think every pixel art game is a master piece because it reminds them of their childhood.

if you ever played link awakening dx for og gameboy and also played the emulated version in the late 90s you will like it

also theres a option to modify the whole game to make it totally a casual shit but lose all the charm

I'm a skilled gamer and a game being challenging is usually an advantage for me and I hate people who whine about difficulty. Even still, I don't think it's a good game. The combat feels overly clunky and restrictive. The game looks like poop. The writing is meh.

On launch I get a black screen for 1 second and then it closes. UPDATE: I restarted my computer and it worked fine. Don't know why.

sure the beginning is quite rough but once you gain a few level up its easy
theres once thing i agree tho, the lack of a map
have to use a guide to reach the 100% but nevertheless, great gb zelda like experience

Anyone else notice that the saves for this are weird? I can't get the game to take new save files. Even when I delete all the save files in AppData/Roaming, the game still retains the previous game saves/profiles. Thanks to AI chatbots, I even tried looking in the Windows registry to see if I could find something there but no good.

I mean... you can remove the save files in-game by either clicking on start game and on the save file selection go up to the skull icon or by going to settings and wiping all the data with the option at the end, BUT if you really want to remove the save files via windows explorer then you need to remove them from two locations:
../appdata/roaming/Yacht Club Games/Mina The Follower
../appdata/roaming/GSE Saves/1875580/remote

thanks brother, I didn't know about the GSE saves folder. I couldn't copy in new save files to use and it's probably because of this folder. Thanks again <3

I downloaded it from you today, but it doesn't work because the game closes as soon as I open it.

Dude, I OWNED Link's Awakening when I was a kid. The Gameboy was the first ever console I owned and Link's Awakening was one of the first games I owned for it(Not THE first but one OF the first). When I upgraded toa GBC you can bet I also upgraded to Link's Awakening DX

cant remember which one was my first console since when i was born in the late 80s there was already an atari, colecovision, intellivision and the nes

gameboy and snes was my last consoles before i meet wolfenstein 3d and doom in the early 90s and the birth of emulators in 1997 made me a total sucker for PC

I was mostly a Nintendo kid. Gameboy, SNES and N64 made my childhood. My cousin had a Sega Genesis(Megadrive in my county) and they'd often lend me their console and I'd lend them mine. then I moved on to Playstation and have been on it ever since. I didn't get into PC emulation until my adult years because I never had a pc up until then
