Yeah no, StS2 is a generic dulled down cash grab. People are afraid to say it because the first game literally did spawn a genre. Not a single streamer or gametuber said anything bad about it. Fucking pussies.
I'd like to say this is a problem with the Steam review system, since you can only leave a like (enjoy) or a dislike. There's no neutral button or scoring system out of five or out of ten.
If you say it’s between a like or dislike, it is not bad enough to be "disliked" by most players, but if it is score-based, it can only go up to 7/10 to be distinguished from a true 9/10 game.
Beat it on first run and it seems the game is heavily designed around the Hades' ascension mechanic which barely works even in Hades because there are stuff to do as it's mainly a rougelite. But it doesn't work with StS2.
Also, there aren't many new content compared to the first game. It's basically a DLC which is in Early Access.
Also, even the initial timeline arts are missing. I guess they put all the effort into making the multiplayer...?
Wym "ascension mechanic"? The difficulty increase mechanic one that existed in the base game and has nothing to do with Hades since Hades uses a different one?
"There aren't many new content" All enemies and encounters are different. 2 new characters, and the old ones, while still have the same build identity, play differently now. Only game mechanic is the same which is good cuz no need to reinvent the wheel.
In StS1 they used similar placeholder arts and ppl loved them (there's even an in-game option to enable them). So now they just continue the tradition. It's in EA after all
when you give minimum effort into trying things and just repeat whatever you see first without doing any research so you add nothing of value to the conversation sure bro
Are you using an HDD? It might take some time to load. Mine took under 5 seconds. Also, I only tested it on a PC, so it might not work if you're using Linux/SteamDesk.

I set a shortcut with "*.exe" --rendering-driver opengl3. This allowed me to launch the game, but there's an annoying visual bug with flickering colors in the background and uncommon/rare cards also have the same color flicker. Any fixes?
Yup. Godot 4 is notorious for this dumb vulkan incompatibility issue if something is slightly outdated like gpu driver.
The devs shouldn't have abandoned Unity after 2yrs of making and shifted to new engine. I don't think there will be a solid fix until the devs address this themselves.
It is about time to download Steam and install some free games from various engines, so you have all the common dependencies installed. It is most likely that you lack modern dependencies like Visual C++, .NET, GPU driver, PhysX, desktop runtime, etc. Or you lack the necessary VRAM; I’d say it is the former, so it is your problem for not buying it on Steam, as Steam will handle all dependencies in the background. It is not the problem of the dev team; it is the problem of not paying for the game. Your best solution is to find a bunch of free games on Steam with various engines and install them so you have the dependencies.
It can happen to the smallest of the games because it's not a missing file or dependency issue, nor occurs because of hardware requirements. It's essentially a specific compatibility issue that Godot 4 doesn't compile well by default when deploying as far as I know.
So even if we did buy it on Steam, like many other games that used the default godot 4 engine, it would still not run as discussed in the Steam forum of StS2 and for many other games.
Somebody already decompiled the entire game files on yt. The devs are clearly new to the engine. They were used to unity before.
GT1030 GAMEPLAY FOR THOSE INTERESTED! -Game is working well, one hour into it so far and have not come across any chrashes, bugs, glitches, ect. Comments below had me worried, but trying it out myself there seems to be no issues? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELKDs25eLiM -Also, here's an official untitled wallpaper if anybody wants it.
Kind of looks like that tbh But then again why reinvent the wheel? They added new mechanics for sure but didn't change anything drastically and they are probably right for that.
No it doesn't unfortunately. Only option is to wait until online-fix.me uploads it they have cracks that also work online playing with friends who also have the same version
It is in AppData\Roaming\SlayTheSpire2\steam, and there should be a different folder for different Steam users. If you have multiple folders, I would suggest you cut and paste everything into a different place and launch the game from Steam and see what the name of the new folder created in this folder is. Then choose the folder with a different number, cut, and copy, and replace the items in this folder.
Yo, this isn't where you ask for updates. Mod's don't monitor comments for upgrade requests. AT the top right of the page it says "game requests" Go there, read the rules, and supply the needed info in the thread for game updates.
Yup, it crashes at the start. Even if you do manage to run it for a while, it will crash randomly. Steam has a lot reports of this and it's definitely a game issue.

Why would you assume some weird conspiracy theory explanation rather than the very obvious one?
But there's no weird conspiracy here. It's just facts. You don't know how the entire industry functions.

It might be a game bug; please wait for the developers to fix it. https://steamcommunity.com/app/2868840/discussions/0/802341195824151336/

New graphics.
This time includes bugs.
But then again why reinvent the wheel? They added new mechanics for sure but didn't change anything drastically and they are probably right for that.
Bugs in these types of games can kill your run and mood. So play with that in mind.

And Hit Enter.
I guess no choice but to wait for the hotfix.
the genre definer is back
....ooooooh. So that's why the score is tanking currently...
