It feels very similar to other "garbage-picking 2D shooting" games. The last game I could think of is "Bad 2 Bad: Apocalypse", and I can still think of two other games, but the name is not popping on top of my head. The funny thing is, all 4 games are made by Chinese developers (I don't know why Chinese devs love to make this type of garbage-picking + shooting grinding games)

My comment for this game is the same of Bad 2 Bad: Apocalypse. "It is Okay for a mobile game, not so good for PC. Lack depth, highly highly repetitive and grinds extremely slowly (which is okay if it was on mobile since you use this game to kill time without using your brain, but it would be really boring for a PC game). It was a fun game for a few hours if you use cheats, like CE or something."

But nonetheless, this one is slightly more refined in the aesthetic, so it scored higher. But as for gameplay, I can't tell there is much unique thing to it after playing it for 7 hours of playing and maxing out everything (with CE of course, else I don't know how much time I need to spend to grind it).

Verdict: Not necessarily a bad game by itself, but I'd rather play "running with rifles". The RWR reference is something that pops into my head when I was writing this comment, and it really gives me a nostalgic feeling. And, this game is still far worse than RWR, after this many years, what gives?

I think most of the Chinese games do not suitable for non-Chinese while many of them are extremely repetitive. It is like a punishment for the players. If a game with no English translations, do not expect that. They do not have a plan for it. If a game has many ancient Chinese literature elements in it like poems. My advice is "Give it up". Chinese games In general are not friendly for non-Chinese.

What I know is many Chinese game developers have no/zero experience in single player game development. They are mostly from web-based games or mobile games industry. They just copy idea from web-based games or mobile games and put them in a single-player game. They are unable to make a complex game like Paradox Games. Another big problem is they have no ecosystem in single-player game. It means they had no such games in the past as references while western countries had many big giants made AAA games. That's why they put many inappropriate elements in a single player game or the graphics/ui style is very similar to mobile games or web games.

You may ask why single player wasn't work in China. One big problem is rampancy of piracy in China in the past/now. I think this is a quite well known issue even now. As a nation prefer to play "free-games" instead of paying a full price to get a game. MMO and mobile games are suitable for them. It also provides a way for them to show off his/her wealthy to their pupils to gain the social status via buying expensive items in those games which are brainless, just a value-based game like kill and loot then repeat. It has many factors causing this, It is hard for me to speak all them out at once. More likely is a combination of culture/political/educational problem.

You may be curious, if it is the case, why they have a few good quality AAA games now. It becomes a business problem. You may know, in recent decade, those big giants in China bought out many US/EU game companies or bought a portion of shares from those game companies. They earned/gained experience/tech from them. Not only in game industry, they do this in many areas.

My definition: a Chinese, a person who is born and is raised in China and is a Chinese native-speaker.

The only really successful single-player game is Black Wukong. The reason it is successful is that it is the only one. There would not be a space for a second or third game because then the state media will go back and tell the usual nonsense of video games being a digital drug type of thing. And you know, before, there used to be none of the good games made by Chinese developers. Now you have one. So the CCP changed the attitude; state media piled in to give this game very good exposure. The CCP used to paint video games as digital drugs that should be eliminated because once people want to play games, they become lazy and hard to control and give up on jobs that barely pay in a 996 (9 am-9 pm 6 days a week) culture. But then, once in, I don't know, a decade, there is one good Chinese game, and then the state media forget about everything they used to say and praise this game, saying everybody should go and play this game because it supposedly earns national dignity. Come on, let me put it this way: If Poland had 1.4 billion people and every single media is controlled by the state and the state poured huge resources into promoting this game (after it became successful out of nowhere), not only inside your country but outside of your country as well to do those "telling-China's-story-well" type of things (https://chinamediaproject.org/the_ccp_dictionary/telling-chinas-story-well/) type of things, then even 2077 would outsell GTA 5 by a factor of 10 times. The Witcher 3 would probably outsell GTA 5 by a factor of 100 times.

It is the classical behavior of the Communist Party, doing the "Video games are drugs and should be banned, and people who play games should be penalized" until you prove yourself you can be a propaganda tool type of thing. That's also the reason you do not see Chinese developers making a game that is about present-day China, because then you must become a propaganda tool. If it were a story in ancient times or especially in fictional settings in ancient times, then probably you can tell somewhat of a story without getting scrutinized. Because once the CCP finds one little single mistake, one single NPC having a slightly different opinion than the entire game will be banned. Not only that, the developer team will also go to jail. I'm not kidding. There are a few developer teams that ended up in jail just like that.

You know China/CCP very much, bro! It is exactly what you say. Black Wukong is overhyped and overrated I think. For me, it is just a mediocre AAA games. As you mentioned, it is a propaganda tool for CCP but many people do not realize it. If Escape From Duckov was a limited resource management and soul-like battle game, it would be a good game.

You're probably thinking about Zero Sievert, Running with Rifles is a decent game but it takes a VERY long time to even beat one map if you play singleplayer.

Thank you. I remember playing Zero Sievert a bit, but not enough to give it a score, but it wasn't what I initially had in mind when I said 2 other games made by Chinese devs.

The problem with Zero Sievert is that there's not enough reason to explore more areas after you acquire some good gear. The potential return is so futile compared with the potential drawdown of death. Looting more becomes unnecessary. Additionally, the jump scares on some of the maps made me feel like I had no real purpose to explore further.

In comparison, I think Escape from duckov is a bit better because its cartoon graphics make it more accessible for a wider audience. Teenagers and older adults can still enjoy the game without fear of death or jump scares.

Regarding RWR, the issue of spending too much time in the game primarily stems from the enemy's relative strength settings at the beginning. Since your teammates only respawn 20% more, that is only 2-3 guys extra on your team, and you can't kill the enemy fast enough to make too much difference, it's understandable that one map can take a long time to complete. I suggest switching to expert difficulty but adjusting your teammates' strength to 150 or even 175. While the difficulty will still be present, but your teammates will respawn much faster, making your progress significantly easier.

Thanks for recommending RwR. I didn't know this game.
And RwR 2 announced, I think I'll skip this Dukov and play RwR.

This Dukov game is way too linear for me. I would rather play top-down tactical extraction shooters.

I still don't know how we can put mods. My "Mods" folder wasn't there when I downloaded the game, so I created one. But when I put a mod in this folder, he doesn't recognize it 'cause I see nothing on the mod menu in the game. Does anyone know how to put some?

You might have to create another 'mods' folder inside mod. I have to do that for a few games

Overall, the game looks interesting. I like the style and when they add some special features to the game, such as non-standard characters. It should be interesting, at least at first. By the way, I recommend checking this out, there are lots of great offers for games.

if we update the game by replacing the older file with the newest, does it conserve the save files ?
