And the people who actually complain about that should be given the exact same treatment because it's such a tiny "issue" that doesn't affect the game in any significant way. Would Elden Ring be a better game if they used male and female instead of bodytype 1 and 2? Would THIS game be any better if they used male and female instead of bodytype 1 and 2? People who get "triggered" over a second of gameplay are a complete and utter joke
Nobody wants to do (or rather pay for) all the extra work (or otherwise mixed results) that letting the player alter the body proportions (or even providing access to multiple bodily builds) would poof into existence. The Dark Souls had varying bodytypes and most of the time only the basic one looked fine (as in, without weird stretching of the equipment and whatnot). Fallout 4, weirdly enough, was fine with its triangle slider thing, since it mostly only allowed for realistic bodytypes. Similar with the Dragon's Dogma, even with its character customization depth, the end result usually looked decent enough. The real problem here is that the game's not about having characters pilot a proper mecha anymore (since then bodytype wouldn't matter), but about having them wear the shrivelled, hollowed out husks of gianto robottos as a grim reminder that mecha isn't exactly mainstream material.
it's more of, if they're going to use body types, then use it properly. Like, give me a loli, a teen, and a milf/teacher look. That's 3 body types that would make sense rather than using body type as a mask for gender, and unironically champion "there are only two genders"
That would mean three separate models to rig, not to mention three separate sets of textures covering those models. Maybe you'd get your wish if the player character just did fuck all but stay in the cockpit most of the time (as should've been) instead of providing the humanizing touch of moving their body in the field, so you, the player, could see your character being a character instead of sitting hidden inside the dehumanizing giant robot.
They also kept that stupid mechanic from the first game where player upgrades show on your model so by the end of the game you either have a fully upgraded pilot that looks nothing like what you originally designed or you have your design but zero upgrades which if course hinders performance. I will never understand why they implemented that and didn't give us the same visual customization they did for Arsenals.
Yeah, it pisses me off too. At least the first game had that one armor that didn't show the model changes aside from the glowing eyes. So far, I didn't stumble upon any equivalent of that.
You know, despite this not being giant mechs and being more Anthem like, I'm actually enjoying it. The story I'm barely paying attention to but the gameplay is fun. I will say though, if you plan on making a tank build, make sure you go for physical defense over laser defense as the vast majority of enemies you face deal physical damage
I actually think I like the fact they went this route instead of the giant mech route...I mean, we got plenty of big mech games but only one power armor suit game, Anthem, and that was soooo disappointing.
It's definitely different I'll give you that but with this being a sequel, fans had expectations. And it's not like there aren't giant mechs in the game, they just work vastly different
I wouldn't say it sucks per se. I mean if you liked the first one you'll probably like this one too. It's no Armored Core or Zone Of The Enders that's for damn sure
I was worried because the opening tutorial was a little rough, but as soon as you land on the planet and things open it it gets infinitely better. Really enjoying this much more than expected.

Stuck on infinite connecting screen when enabling online in the options menu from the main menu. Am i supposed to launch the coop mode a different way?
Tbh i haven't got there yet! but i haven't had any loading issues yet But also haven't had anyone to test it with yet (I'm working on getting to the multiplayer as we speak!!

I can kinda see where most of those negative reviews are coming from, it's mainly performance issues(What a surprise) and no ultra wide support. Also it seems they kept that idiotic decision of having character upgrades be reflected on your character model like in the first game so all the time you spend designing your character gets nullified unless you don't upgrade at all
These people should have their names removed and be given numbers instead.
