Has anyone else played this? It seems like there are interactable objects but for some reason i can't interact with them. Then after the first scene i can't progress any further since nothing is happening.

Same here, after the scene with the guard captain, there are meant to be other patrons at the sake den (other than the hostess) but they're missing. No info online about it. I can only assume it has been patched after this version.
