@For newbie: Don't forget crack before launching the game (otherwise you will get the "no license" error). By doing one of the following:
Method 1: before installing the game, check the following box:
Method 2: or after installing the game, open the iso file, copy everything in the "RUNE" folder, then paste them to where you installed the game, enjoy ;) (see tutorial image here if you still dont know: https://igg-games.com/how-885614657-to-install-game-and-update.html)
Let's Fucking Goooo!! god, i love dragon quest sadly, we live in the modern era, so probably will there some Woke Localization. i hope if there a mod would fix it all, i don't care what they say.
The only bit of "woke" in it is at the start when you select your character's gender, instead of male and female it's appearance a or b. And yes there is a mod that changes that if it bothers you so much as well as redesigns some of the sprites to make them look more like the original artwork. honestly I don't see much different in the sprites except in three cases
The visual redesigns were completely unnecessary and an insult to Akira Toriyama. I wouldn't have played this version if there wasn't a classic restoration mod as I have beaten this one several times over on several systems already. God bless the modders.
Except there was barely any visual redesigns? Sure the most egregious one is the Monster Wrangler male sprite but even that one was done to appease the rating boards and the male...I think Merchant, not sure, it's the middle eastern looking character who's skin they made look lighter, that one I don't understand why it was done. The other sprites barely have any changes. Heck, the modern sprite for the female warrior is actually better because it doesn't make it look like the fauld is just floating in front of her crotch with nothing attaching it to her body. The female mage also looks way better with much more detail in the clothing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving more details to the sprites to make them look more appealing while keeping the same design sense of the original art. Disrespectful would have been if they ignored the character art completely and made something else completely different.
The male and female one looks way worse. Now it looks like she is wearing skin colored boy shorts and looks ridiculous. The original just had a string or whatever that is why it was hard to see. Also, the before here are awful. These designs were made not to appeal to anybody but to people who complain and they really don't give a shit anyway.
Yeah, exactly. In the art you can see the string that holds the fauld but not in the sprite, in the sprite it looks like it's just hovering in front of her crotch, it looks weird. With the modern sprite it looks like there's actually something(Looks like a piece of armor to me) holding it in place. For the monster, I don't see any difference whatsoever so it's probably something so minute that it probably doesn't even matter. For the cleric yeah I see the difference, doesn't bother me, after all it's a fantasy kingdom. Plus it was only done for the female cleric, the male cleric still has the more modern design. For the personality names, Aristocrat and Lady Like are basically the same thing so no idea why that one was changed and replacing Tomboy with Tear-Away makes no sense, what even IS Tear-Away supposed to be anyway. So yes, when it comes to personality types I can give you that.
Interesting. Couldn't give a fuck about pronouns or any "woke" shit but some of the older sprites DO look better. Though I kinda like the modern version of the Warrior sprite better. In the original version it looks like the Fauld is just glued to her crotch or just floating there, at least in the new version it looks like there's something holding it in place
It's the same old complaints over and over again. When you pick your character's gender at the start of the game you don't pick male and female, you pick appearance A or appearance B. Looking at the mod page there isn't too much of a difference between the old sprites and the new ones. The most striking difference is a character with a sort of middle eastern look to him having a darker skin in the original game and for some reason in the remaster he has lighter skin. There were changes in the definitions of personalities like for example Tomboy was renamed to Tear-Away. You can see all the changes in the mod page itself
What I find interesting is that most of these changes are done in such a way that people have to intentionally try and get offended. 'Appearance A or B' does not mean the developers have a secret political Illuminati agenda or anything, it just means A or B.
The only ones I find odd is the Middle Eastern characters being of a lighter tone as you pointed out, but even that should not be a deal breaker or anything in itself.
Yeah, no idea why they decided to do that for that character. And looking at the images on the mod page, I can barely see any difference between the older and newer sprites, especially the monster ones. Hell in come cases the newer ones look better with more details
i played female hero and suddenly i remembered dahootch made a whole hentai series around her, it made me stop playing and fap for a while instead lel.
Why a 3D remake of a 2D game? It requires more resources than a super game like Far Cry 3, which is 3D. Where is the video game industry going? Christ!!!
It's not 3D, it's HD 2D, completely different situation. Your comparison with Far Cry doesn't make sense. Why are you comparing a game from 2012 with a game from 2024? Doesn't matter if one is 2D and the other is 3D, this one is HD, Far Cry is not, that's what matters
I compare it in the sense that any game now requires 8 to 16 GB of RAM and more than 10 GB of HDD. It's not even a new game, it's a remake. In the past, gameplay and story were prioritized over graphics. They're killing the video game industry. I challenge any modern platformer that surpasses Super Metroid 3 in quality and fits in the palm of your hand.

"They're killing the video game industry" Ah yes, making games look and sound better is killing the industry...you people will blame everyone for a game not running except yourselves for having a PC from 10 years ago. Technology advances everyday. Keep up with it or be left in the dust grandpa!
what's happening is gaming is evolving past the 2010's where any potato computer could run anything. Technology has advanced, gaming has advanced, either get with the new technology or keep playing older games on your old PC.
For a cracked game, the default language settings are usually changed within a text file. Not all cracked games have their language settings in the same, exact named file, folder or subfolder. You would need to go to the installed game's folder and try to find a text file that is called either "steam_api.ini", "steam_emu.ini", "settings.txt", "settings.ini", "language.txt", "force_language.txt" or any file with a file extension of ".ini" or "txt". Sometimes, the name of the Scene or P2P group that cracked the game is used to prefix the name of the text file that has the language settings like "RUNE.txt", "TENOKE.txt", "FLT.txt", "RUNE.ini", "TENOKE.ini", "FLT.ini" ... etc.
Search in any subfolders, if necessary (The text file might not be in the installed folder's root directory) and then open it with Notepad. In the text file, do a search for the key "language". If it is found, set the key's value to a language that is supported by the game (eg. - language = english, language = tchinese, language = schinese, ... etc. Check the game's retail page for supported languages to make sure that the language that you set is actually supported by the game), save the change and then try running the game again.
so in the end corpo gave in and admit denuvo contract isnt profitable for long run, but i wonder why P5R still on denuvo. Does atlus really keep giving denuvo money each month?
It seems Sega has made a good deal with Irdeto, so they either pay very little to keep Denuvo in their games, or their contract has a very long duration. Maybe both. Either way, don't count on any Sega games losing Denuvo any time soon.
What I want to know is why freaking Sonic Origins Collection still has Denuvo. I own that one, and it's a pain to have to be online to play it when it's a low-spec game that could run on a toaster, the toaster in question is my cheapo laptop, and even the collection itself is old at this point, so why does it still require me to have an internet connection to play?
god, i love dragon quest
sadly, we live in the modern era, so probably will there some Woke Localization.
i hope if there a mod would fix it all, i don't care what they say.
