Main issue for me was the fact that meta progression is character based. You'll need to start again from zero with each character. Item drops are also pretty much all character based and you'll need character-specific armor, helmet and weapon - which is a mind numbing grind.
Then, it came the cherry on the shit cake, the items' stats are borderline useless. You'll get a ring that gives 1% physical defense, a necklace that gives 1% fire defense - items like that makes me want to kill myself after a 15 minute run.
Stage balancing is frustrating, gold is very slow to farm while items and meta progression upgrades are filthy expensive.
It was fun when doing the first and second stages then I realized it would be a shit grind with shit returns and that I would need to do everything again from zero with each character.
I was really hopeful with this on my first few runs, then I've been on floor 3 forever with no noticeable progress. Even after spending a ton of gold to improve stats and getting better equipment, it still takes too many hits just to kill a basic skeleton at the start the level.
The best thing about this game is that it reminded how good Halls of Torment is.
Very fun game and worth the purchase. Dev has been updating it almost daily since the release. Has some unique systems in play that you haven't seen in others game of its genre. I was glad to support the developer.
