I have completed both endings on two saves. I feel this is an inferior version of the game "This War of Mine."
The gameplay mechanic is 95% identical, basically a carbon copy. But in this game, you have much less of a moral dilemma than in This War of Mine. Because most of the enemies are just zombies, you don't feel bad killing zombies. And the resources are quite abundant. I don't feel the necessity of killing innocent people because you can always find more resources elsewhere just in exchange for killing a few more zombies.
But the resources in This World of Mine are much more limited. You have to loot or rob the weak. The civilians are all innocent, but it's a matter of there not being enough resources for both you and the others to survive.
And one thing I have to emphasize is the story of "This War of Mine" happens in a eastern european country where the gun ownership is much, much more strict. Where 98% of homes do not have a gun. But the story of this game was set in Texas. Yet, throughout the entire map, you do not have enough gun parts craft more than five hand guns (as of v0.33 you can not craft AR or shotguns). I mean, seriously, it is TEXAS! Shouldn't there be at least an AR on EVERY OTHER HOME?
Back to the topic. The reason I gave it 3/5 is because it is just a worse version of an existing game. Yes, this game has some extra quality of life features that do not exist in the original non-modded "This War of Mine." Like there can be more than one guy going out per night (max 3), but you can't send more than one person to one location. So in the end, it pretty much shortens the three night's expedition into one night.
So far, there just aren't that many consequences for the player's actions. And the resources are really not balanced. I only explored 1/3 of the map and already have every buildable maxed out, and the zombies' global aggression goes up very slowly. You are not being pressured to finish the game as quickly as possible. And in This War of Mine, you only have a limited time to explore the map before facing severe consequences. Whilst this game focused more on stealth, you basically have an unlimited amount of time, which, like I said, you're not being pushed to finish the game, nor being pushed to finish explore the map you are on.
So far, this game is in Early Access, so I gave it 3/5 for now. I will have to see if I can bump it up when it fully releases.
Still very repetitive. But more annoying since they ramp up the difficulty. (You can change the difficulty on the main menu)
I've replay the game at v0.7 for half of a run, And my score stays the same. The reasoning also stays the same. They added more events, and a new ending, and new gun part (But still very scarce for whatever artificial reason, I remind you this is Texas. There should be at least one AR on every other home) Increase the difficulty by "you can only send two survivors instead of three" and "The global zombie aggression goes a bit faster", " Hunger increased bit faster" to make the game a bit harder. But that's about it. I don't think the core game mechanisms is fixable. As for what is the problem with the core game mechanisms I have a more detailed post down below.
Overall, this is still the inferior version of "this world of mine". That means it's worse than an existing game that released back in many years. Now, without the possibility of sending Three people to three separate locations. It becomes more of a carbon copy than an existing game, yet still worse.
Just complete all possible endings with some new updates. A really fun game, but getting bored easily causes nothing to do at the end (no character customization, no random looting, can't rearrange facility just follow the system how it goes) but I like the way of moving to another shelter, it's quite unique.
GT1030 GAMEPLAY FRO THOSE INTERESTED! -Preety promising even in early access, it's like a cheap copy of This War Of Mine but with a more stratetegic surival vibe and zombie apocalpyse plot. If you like games where you spend more time managing your resources and scavenging like in State of Decay, then this one's for you perhaps. Imagine your zombified Wife catching you playing this late at night tho. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE_98DBTv5I
Can't say it's a cheap copy, it's because both have the same graphics simulations. They have different mechanisms and gameplay. And yeah, I agree with SoD. It's the same vibe totally 100% not to forget is same vibe with this war of mine hahaha. mad respect for you man for keep playing on gt1030
Thanks King! Well, honestly if I could get something better to run every new gen game on my wishlist I would. Sadly I'm always up to the head with the bills, so I can't. Way cheaper for me to be buying games on Steam when offers hit, than saving up for a better setup. Tried in the past, but went nowhere with my current economic system. But, all in all I'm happy with what I can play. And GT1030 can run some preety peak games including titles like Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and other recent stuff, what with an i7 implemented there's far more choices. To this day I try a little bit of everything while I can, because yolo. -True that, I really forgot This War of Mine over time lol, but I agree with the comparison. Maybe I got confused somewhat, but when I started playing it for some reason Deadlight popped into my head, nostalgic much? But now that you say so, TWOM would be a better example to compare it to. I'll tweak and edit the above, because your perspective makes more sense.
Yeah man life hits hard with bills and everything. You're not wrong about Deadlight either. They both have the same visuals, just different gameplay styles. I'm actually quite impressive that GPU can handle newer games like a charm. Play what you can while you can bro. enjoy
Same to ya man! I honestly can't believe how on par with the actual generation GT1030 is. Nowadays I just try games even if the specs don't align well to my current setup, eventually it's hard to predict which new games actually run since even ps4-5 titles worked well. It's actually more chill when you know you have 16 RAM, because that usually prevents you from running games by a lot. Many people out there talking trash about GT1030 because they prefer to be up to date with the new tech and can do so. I was honestly doubting myself back then as well, but after watching so many vids on Youtube listing a lot of titles that run well I had no regrets and went for the purchase. Just by saying Red Dead Redemption 2 runs is enough for generations to come. Maybe the new DOOM game won't run, maybe it will. But even DOOM: Eternal runs like a charm.
yup 16gb is really recommended but somehow it doesn't even need more than that. Some games only took 4gb ram even modern games. When I saw this on task manager it only took a lower %. I actually didn't know how good gt1030 is for these modern games but danm man, you really test to the maximum limit, It must be a good tweak right there. I’ve been playing way too many games lately but I do not really enjoy fancy graphics too much every time I try to use the mid/high preset, my room automatically turns into the Sahara Desert hahah. I am just a casual gamer rather play offline gets me addicted to things like this game, survive, build management, craft and rpg. (no gacha hahah)
Indeed, it's basically the peak next-gen games that demand 16 GB over all, most specifically trending titles ranging from 50-100 GB. Pretty sure at one point, 32 GB will be a need for many. Just look at the amount of issues Square Enix has with porting performance on PC. Even killed some titles that are unplayable even if you buy them now. And to add more to the drama, the latest FF game was delayed for quite a lot because tests showed the game was even burning consoles due to the graphics. In a sense some devs create gems that are way beyond the level of current setups. Main reason RTX keeps releasing new series, if not new gen games would not be able to keep up. "The future is now" kinda defines this all in a way or another. Yup, I prefer my games in 720x, and over here it's a sauna as well so I turn off my PC when I realize it's frying eggs. Let it rest, then keep up after a while. Sometimes even opening both windows in the room won't help much. I'v played games in the past at even 800x just because I wanted to beat them and have fun, while other people just diss on games because the graphics look bad. Breh, imagine playing an online gacha an entire year at 20 FPS, that's me because I can run it. I think it's a matter of appreciating the little you can have. Yeah, in the past I used to play on GTS450 and was quite happy, until most of my fave gacha games started changing their specs, killed the dualcore compatibility, and demanded other things. I'm just glad I was able to fix this all with a processor on part with i5 and 7, and a definitive 7 at that. Yup, I know the feel and rarely finish most of the stuff. I have many free games on Epic Games left pending, and I'm one to always buy stuff on Steam whenever I can. And yet the library keeps growing because it feels like a need? The good thing is that you always have something to play, and besides pirating games most of the time whatever you have on your personal library stays there forever. If something were to happen to your current pc, your library on Steam or whatever will remain untouched just like the cloud saves I guess. Been a cultured gamer since I first got my PS1 when I was a kid, then also got into flash games at school, emulation later in life, gacha games, and pirating preety much everything. Although online gaming gets preety stressing. Also played League of Legends for 15 years straight, and am the rank 1 mastery player on my server with a certain character/champ. Currently at 6M and hoping for my 10 in this life (dunno, getting old). My channel was basically about this, but with time I started uploading a lot of a lot. And tbh, I'm the type of guy that loves sharing everything. Even so, I hate coop and will forever do so. Depending on teams to obtain a victory is stressing, but I have my reasons for playing it. Personally 1% of 99 interest into the game. As for gacha games? I'm here for the Waifus and lore.
Looks like you forgot to include the crack in this release. When I start the game, it redirects to Steam with a 'no license' error. Please re-upload with the crack included. Thanks!
I love it,it's brilliant,my kinda alley style aka war of mine but with zombies spin and even better yes pls,ty god its not tie in with walking dead in any way...but it's in early access again, f me...but its only gonna get better right.
