Had the same problem. Even went through a few uninstall/install cycles without success. After I reinstalled DirectX 9 (June 2010 edition) from Microsoft, audio came back. Mind you, that you still have to unzip, follow all installation guidelines with AV/Firewall disabled, preferably offline altogether. Also, it seems the game uses the same old audio DirectX .dll as Ashes of Singularity. That's how I was able to find solution browsing through AoS issues. One user claims to have managed to pinpoint the exact missing DLL responsible for the bug (named XAPOFX1_5.dll (for x64). I have downloaded it separately, put it in the game folder and System32 (because, why not?!), reinstalled DirectX 2010 June revision — and the game audio was back both in AoS and Act of Aggression. Didn't notice other bugs, yet. But they are not guaranteed against as the mentioned solution is clunky, indeed. PS: I run Win 10 Pro x64, 1809, GTX 1070 laptop. I've also updated later Realtek drivers. Although the mere update without further DirectX and DLL tricker had not been successful. Just FYI.
Yeah, but it's the only way, and, it was actually my bad, as most games would REQUIRE Direct X to be installed anyway. It is one of the basic software I install when I setup a PC, not sure why I forgot to setup one now... hahah
Thanks for the upload IGG! However, the colors are all messed up in menu and in-game for me(rainbow-like). I have tried running as admin and not. Tried changing compatibility to WinXP SP 2&3. I also reapplied the crack manually. Please help Igg-games looks like a really cool game. (Thanks in advance.) System Specs: Win 7 64 bit Nvidia GTX 460 8 GB RAM
No single player in this Edition. Original edition keeps crash the whole OS. this is not realy playable on win 7 64 bit with gtx 970. Skirmish only is boring. Don´t waste your time with this if you want to play a cool singleplayer campaign. Epic Fail !
My commment is not for people like you who satisfied to play skirmish only. My comment is for people who expecting the whole SP campaign in this Edition. So your comment is an epic fail. You don´t understand what i try to say. Sorry for possibly bad english. I´am german.
riffelj is right, you seem to be judging a game by your own opinion "Skirmish only is boring" you do not say why it is boring. Also most RTS's are focused on the Skirmish gamemode as most rts's have multiplayer in mind.
I love the game!
