I have been an AMD user for many years, and I am writing to you as a concerned user of the RX 570 graphics card from the RX 500 series. This card is very powerful and can run games exceptionally well, even new titles. For example, it should be able to run WWE 2K25, which is set to release soon on PC, without any issues.
However, there is a major problem. In October 2024, AMD released driver version 24.9.1, which was the last update before moving into 2025. Since then, no further updates have been released for the RX 500 series, despite millions of users worldwide still relying on these GPUs.
The 24.9.1 update has caused serious issues with games, including crashes, black screens, and game freezes. Before this update, the RX 500 series did not experience such problems. However, after installing it, these issues have appeared for all users, not just me. The only possible solution is for AMD to release a new driver update, such as version 25.1.1.
I have noticed that AMD continues to support other GPU series with new driver updates, but the RX 500 and RX 400 series seem to have been left out. This is a huge problem for users. If this issue is not resolved, many RX 500 and RX 400 users will be forced to switch to NVIDIA, which continues to support its older GPUs with frequent updates. Unlike AMD, NVIDIA ensures that its older GPUs remain compatible with new games through continuous driver support.
One critical example is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, which does not launch at all on the RX 500 series when using the 24.9.1 driver. Instead, users receive error messages (as shown in the attached screenshots).
Users of the RX 500 and RX 400 series urgently need continuous updates. We have been waiting for months with no response from AMD, and our patience is running out. If AMD does not provide updates, many of us will be forced to switch to NVIDIA, not because we want to, but because we have no other choice.
We, the users, have sent numerous messages about this issue over the past months, yet we have received no clear response from AMD. If AMD does not release updates for the RX 500 series, I will have no choice but to switch to NVIDIA, as they provide consistent driver updates for both new and old GPUs.
I sincerely hope AMD will take this issue seriously and release a new driver update for the RX 500 and RX 400 series as soon as possible. If someone from the AMD support team can confirm that an update is coming soon, that would be greatly appreciated.

The company says that whileit will still provide “critical” security and bug fix updates to Polaris and Vega series cards, it won’t be fine-tuning them like newer GPU products. Those are primarily the Radeon RX 400and RX 500 series, respectively, as well asthe Vega family of graphics cards.
Anandtech published a statement quoting AMD directly, saying that while these products haven’t quite reached “legacy” status (no support at all), there’s very little practical reason to continue withthe standard month-to-month upgrades to optimize performance in games newand old.
AMD has less money to burn than NVIDIA and they're launching their next-gen this friday so you might need to wait a couple of months for another long term support driver update.
Not an AMD gpu user (since 5700 series) due to their HORRIBLE driver's and BSOD issues in (most) games at the time. However, considering AMD has mostly made alot of their stuff "open source" perhaps checking for community support for these cards would be a better choice. Since it would appear AMD has stopped supporting them. Or you could switch to linux and use the driver's the community (openly makes) using MESA.
Go to your Documents folder, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 folder will have 2 folders inside. Just copy the contents of the old folder to the new one. Check the date first.
played this when it wasnt actually released on pc (through the leaked build) but was a "mostly" finished product. had issues then to be honest. and from what im seeing, those same issues are still a thing now... but, its 100% worth the struggle considering how good this game is. (in my opinion anyways).
We just uploaded the language pack, you can download it above. Note, from your Torrent Client, you just need to "checked/selected" the language you want to download to save bandwidth.
I downloaded v1.5 Update and applied it. But the game doesn't start. Just the intros (Sony Entertainment, PlayStation, Nixxes etc.) show up and then when the main menu was supposed to appear, the game just quits. No errors show up except a PlayStation Report Dialog (To send the crash report to PlayStation).
Then I reapplied v1.4 Update and it works again like before. Please fix the v1.5 Update.
I've done all of the steps. But when I launch it after the beginning credits it crashes then gives a send crash report. I've already tried running as admin, directly from dir.
I fixed it by copying the oldest update rune version to dir then runnning the game then repeating this step on the other copy and paste updates. Just run the game every time you paste the update.
Then it will definitely not work, because the updates here are created based on previous versions that were uploaded here. You should use updates from DODI.

Is anybody here experiencing crash issues after playing for a bit or is it just me? I downloaded the torrent one. I don't know if it's the same file as this one, but it just kept crashing even after all the updates. Game runs really smooth, then just crash the entire pc after like 30 minutes of playing.
Please fix it or remove whatever is preventing the game from working on RX 550, 560, 570, 580, 590, and some NVIDIA graphics cards. Do you expect us to update the game and install these updates? Fix the game first so it can run on all compatible graphics cards without issues.
If these restrictions permanently prevent the game from running, why don’t AMD and NVIDIA release updates for these GPUs to make the game playable? This is frustrating, messy, and completely unacceptable. How am I supposed to enjoy this game if I can’t even run it, even though I have a GPU that can handle any game just fine?
I’ve waited years for this game to be released on PC, and now it won’t even start. That’s just unfair and extremely disappointing. The company should either fix the game and remove the restrictions causing these issues or AMD and NVIDIA should release immediate updates for their GPUs to ensure the game runs smoothly without errors.

you should give more info bro... which update are you installing (1.205.0.0 or 1.212.1.0)? where did you download the base game before? did you install the updates in order?...

it's weird, quite a few files don't match, or in other words the files have been modified (or corrupted for some reason, like are you using a mod?). As you can see, based on the log, the installer is just checking if the previous files are modified or corrupted, otherwise it won't apply the patch, since that would be pointless when the original files are corrupted.
you have downloaded an ad file, delete it immediately. Game files are usually large in size and are rar files, while ad files are usually exe files and are small in size.
Hi, I can run the game but every few seconds, there will be a mini-freeze for 2-3 seconds, then the game will continue. That happens even during the videos. For those who have trouble updating to v1.318.1.0 , i also have trouble with multiple errors, but when i extract again with intact folder name "Marvels.Spider.Man.2.Digital.Deluxe.Edition" and with the "game" folder inside, the update works fine. just select the "game" folder as update target.

Got it to work, AV deleted setup.exe from the first update, the first update had to be installed with that setup.exe, and files from the RUNE folder had to be copied, all other updates are just copy/paste, no installations.

Okay, so I updated to the newest version but now it seems like my graphics can barely hang on especially when cutscenes are playing. Funny thing is when I just had the base game the game played semi decent. Anyone know which version is the best paired with a GTX 1050TI 4GB? Or is there a string of options in the game I need to enable to smooth my game out? I've seen benchmarks of people playing on the 1050ti GPU. I don't care about max settings and having the game be the most beautiful experience I just wanna play it.
Played the game at a friends house two years back and it hooked me.
I'm running a I5 4590 GTX 1050ti and 14gb of ram I thought the game would be decent with just 2gb ram missing but i don't think so. Or it could be my cpu as it doesn't meet the minimum requirements. But i did see someone benchmark the game on an I5 4590 with different gpu's. But oh well guess its back to grinding my job to get better parts or even a new gaming rig altogether.
Yeah, no, 14 GB of RAM should be more than enough. It's either your CPU or your GPU that is bottlenecking and I'd wager it's the GPU. Funny thing is, I played the base game with slightly weaker parts than yours(8GB Ram and a GTX 1650) and it ran just fine with only a little bit of chugging in the more intense cutscenes
Okay so, I downloaded the game from here played it without updating and I got to the point after Sandman with hitches but no crashes luckily. Thought updating the game would make it more smoother so I went all the way to the latest update, barring the one that was updated like three or two days ago. Had to start from beginning but I couldn't even get past Sandman then as it would hitch indefinitely.
So, my question is is there a version that runs the game smoothly? Probably not, considering its my cpu bottle-necking me but if i can find out which version I could potentially see if my cpu a handles it. though i doubt it. Its a tall order to see what version responds the best with my cpu but it could be worth asking. As mentioned in my previous comment I have seen people run the game on the cpu so hoping honestly. Also i saw people running the game on GTX 1050ti on low settings and it plays all things considered.
Got UPDATE v1.318.1.0 and when I went to virus total to scan the setup.exe it came back positive for containing viruses. Is it possible to get a clean re-upload of UPDATE v1.318.1.0?
This is released from the scene, it never has viruses. You see the name of this release "Marvels.Spider-Man.2.Update.v1.318.1.0-RUNE", it's not mine, I just re-uploaded it from SCENE, in this case the RUNE team (you don't need to search their website, since it's not public on the internet, websites you find are known to fake and use the names of groups at SCENE).
Most of SCENE GROUPS releases have been like this for the past few months bro. AV not only scans for viruses, but also for pirated files. Click on the "RELATIONS" tab, you will see a company called "MarkMonitor Inc.", it is the biggest anti-piracy company in the world right now. Their bot automatically scans all files from SCENE GROUPS, sending the hash of the scene files to the AV database. That's why you see most of the AVs warning, labeled "Hack", "Hacktool", "Crack",...
One more thing, this is a SCENE release (What is Scene? you should search the wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez_scene and google about this, they will explain it better than me). In general, the scene is decades old, certainly older than you (and me). It is completely safe. All the pirates you download from the internet, including movies, games, software, music, anime... are mostly leaked from the Scene. In other words, most uploaders re-upload from SCENE. If SCENE uploads the virus, then it will surely be the end of pirates.
In case you want to check exactly if these files are valid, you can use predb sites, for example: https://www.srrdb.com/browse/category:pc/order:date-desc/1. You use some popular software like 7z to get the CRC-32 hash of the file you just downloaded, compare it with the information on predb site, if they match then you are safe.
Six months into downloading pirated games so I simply never knew about The Scene just thought the uploader uploaded all the files from his own purchased copy of the game. Thpough I do know cracking and breaking through the denuvo and anti-cheat also factors in. Thanks for clearing it up as I've seen pirate sites get bad reps as people say they just simply downloaded viruses.

In the future, when you use releases from SCENE, they usually have the string "RUNE, CODEX, SKIDROW, RELOADED, PLAZA, TENOKE,..." at the end. You can always check the safety yourself via www.srrdb.com/browse/category:pc/order:date-desc/1, just add a get CRC32 tool (like 7z) and it's enough :D
Sorry for my ignorance, but I’m not sure how to properly apply the new updates. I have the base game installed and already applied update v1.31.0.0. Now, should I apply v1.318.1.0 and then v1.401.1.0 in that order?
You have to install them in order... that's why they exist, otherwise we would have removed them... now you will not be able to reinstall update v1.318.1.0...
In the future, before applying an update that you are not sure whether it works or not. It is best to copy the game folder somewhere for backup. Then apply the update, if it works, it is good. Otherwise, you can still go back to the old game folder that was backed up
Okay, so let's say I downloaded all two Updates how would one go installing them? I went through readme and it basically just states copy over all contents into the game folder. So, would it be copy previous update into game folder and then replace it with newer update contents? All I'm asking for is confirmation on whether that's right or not.
Depending on the update you use, they will have different installation methods, usually 1 of 2 ways:
Installer: double click installer, point to the game folder, install.
Copy/paste: copy (override) to the game folder
Whichever way, it's quite easy.
If someone is going to ask why it has to be divided into 2 ways? because it depends on how the developer has updated the game. For example, if in a certain version, they update more than 20GB for the game, we will use the "installer" method => the size is only a few GB or even a few dozen Mb. On the contrary, we use the "copy/paste" method for simplicity, which means you only copy/paste the files that the developer has changed in the update.
In this case:
Update v1.318.1.0: is an installer, requiring you to install the base game from this website first.
Update v1.401.1.0: is a copy/paste, requiring the game to be at v1.318.1.0.

I have an issue, the game has no dialogues (most of the time). I know its not my headphones, every other game works well. My drivers are updated, yes I have tried mono both on PC and the game and still can't hear most of the dialogues.
Most people who have problems with dialogues do so because they did not download the Language pack, and use a language other than English, have you downloaded it?
I played in English, and yeah i have tried that. I did have dialogues, but like 5% of them? xD The voices were mostly not there or would cut out. But I finished the game yesterday :) so all good
a bit late, but if your using a DS4 controller (ps4) dual shock WIRED. for whatever reason it has a built in speaker. And spiderman 2 will use that speaker whenever possible. (i removed the driver for it, and disabled it all together). may not be your issue. and you could simply have an issue with the sounds being to low in game, or set wrong. either way, food for thought.
Its always strange when people go somewhere else and the issue resolves itself. Since the "elsewhere" place is almost always using the same crack as IGG (since they mostly come from the same place). If i had to guess it was reinstalling that did the trick.

id at the very least like to try it even if the hashes dont match but im not given that option. its not like i can just ignore this update either since the game doesnt work for me and im just waiting for an update to hopefully fix it. i wont be able to do that if the next update requires 1.212. it jsut rolls back the update leaving me stuck on 1.205
The fact that it helps you rollback is a lifesaver bro -_-!...because the installer is checking if you have the original game files, or if the files are corrupted. If so, it will rollback the old files for you. The hash is incorrect => it means your files are corrupted. Even if you want to skip the hash check, you won't be able to open the game afterwards.
You should open __HOW TO INSTALL UPDATE.txt, read "NOTE BEFORE USE" line.
This latest update (1.205) definitely fixed something. My CPU is now running about 10 degrees cooler with this game and the AIO fans aren't blowing at near 100%. I just built this system about 2 months ago and this is the only game that was pushing it hard.

I need help. Am always getting the file is corrupt error. And it's always on part 1. I did download again and it was the same problem. The errors showed up on 7zip. And in game after the high school mission.
When your extracting, use winrar so it tells you which part has the issue. (itll state which part it is) then you can just re-download that part and be fine. if none of the parts are actually bad, id have to assume its your antivirus software taking measures to stop you from pirating the game. If you have not turned off your AV software, do so before extraction and installation. (also add an exclusion for where this game is installed/will be installed) and other cracked games too. (more or less, make a "cracked games folder" and add that entire folder to your AV software's exclusion list.

HDD (slow/older tech) SSD (newer..ish faster) NVME (latest depending on generation) this game will likely not run (well) on a HDD. but, hdd/nvme/ssd are storage options.
Thanks for the reply; I'm using SSD storage (my computer is a desktop)...but it's windows 11 and with the graphics card and processor that more than meets the minimum requirements for the game...could that still be the reason ?
Anyone else cant use their old save files after updating the game? I was like 50% through the game and after today's update, when I open the game, it gives me the new game option only, no Continue. Would appreciate any help
Go into this games folder location and find the .emu file (open it in notepad) screenshot it and share it in an image to me here in the comments. i can tell you where the newer save would be, then youll have to find the older version for yourself based off that info gained from the latter. it may be in c/%appdata%/documents/insomniac but im not sure as i have NOT played this PORTED cracked version. (i played the playstation leaked build)..
anyways, if you find your OLD save you SHOULD be able to COPY and paste it into the NEW save location and then your save should work fine.
edit- old save should be %SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Documents\Steam\RUNE\2651280 if you can show that emu file, i can tell you close to where your new save location would be. unless the update just broke saves all together.

i have some problem with the audio part. it's lost the music & sound effect after i clear the fist mission. somehow it's come back when enter cut scene.
Did you download the update file above? Also make sure that your drivers (GPU, C++, net framework) are up to date. Dont forget to check your settings in game, and make sure they aren't set on something funky. i dont have this installed anymore so i cant check personally. If you have multiple audio sources on your PC (surround sound, headphones and normal PC speakers) make sure the game isnt "auto switching". which should be something you can check in the games settings. If your using a PS4 controller through DS4W using WIRED mode it could be your PC "audio output" is swapping to the controllers tiny ass speaker. (you can disable this) in DS4W if this option is turned on. if nothing else works, its likely a bug since this is a horrible release from Sony and insomniac games.
Hi, my drivers are up to date and my graphics card/processor are above the minimum requirements (Geforce GTX 1660 Ti). I've installed C++.net framework and also downloaded the latest update; raytracing is not enabled (cannot enable anyway), graphics settings set to the lowest possible BUT still the same problem of game freezing after every 2-5 seconds happened ! Can please help me ? Thank you !
Even after the update, I was still getting nasty crashes with raytracing on. Turned all raytracing options off, the game is playing perfectly and still looks damn good.
I downloaded the game using torrent file it downloaded a zip file containing the whole game already installed when I try to extract it , it doesn't extract the whole game and a lot of files are missing I need help
If you are using a PS4 controller (and way 1 doesn't work), use DS4 Windows. With this, you can play with bluetooth and/or cable, depends on you and your charge.

Before you play,open the install folder of the game,make a new folder and drag dstorage.dll and dstoragecore.dll into the new folder to improve load times,low fps and micro freezes!

I have been an AMD user for many years, and I am writing to you as a concerned user of the RX 570 graphics card from the RX 500 series. This card is very powerful and can run games exceptionally well, even new titles. For example, it should be able to run WWE 2K25, which is set to release soon on PC, without any issues.
However, there is a major problem. In October 2024, AMD released driver version 24.9.1, which was the last update before moving into 2025. Since then, no further updates have been released for the RX 500 series, despite millions of users worldwide still relying on these GPUs.
The 24.9.1 update has caused serious issues with games, including crashes, black screens, and game freezes. Before this update, the RX 500 series did not experience such problems. However, after installing it, these issues have appeared for all users, not just me. The only possible solution is for AMD to release a new driver update, such as version 25.1.1.
I have noticed that AMD continues to support other GPU series with new driver updates, but the RX 500 and RX 400 series seem to have been left out. This is a huge problem for users. If this issue is not resolved, many RX 500 and RX 400 users will be forced to switch to NVIDIA, which continues to support its older GPUs with frequent updates. Unlike AMD, NVIDIA ensures that its older GPUs remain compatible with new games through continuous driver support.
One critical example is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, which does not launch at all on the RX 500 series when using the 24.9.1 driver. Instead, users receive error messages (as shown in the attached screenshots).
Users of the RX 500 and RX 400 series urgently need continuous updates. We have been waiting for months with no response from AMD, and our patience is running out. If AMD does not provide updates, many of us will be forced to switch to NVIDIA, not because we want to, but because we have no other choice.
We, the users, have sent numerous messages about this issue over the past months, yet we have received no clear response from AMD. If AMD does not release updates for the RX 500 series, I will have no choice but to switch to NVIDIA, as they provide consistent driver updates for both new and old GPUs.
I sincerely hope AMD will take this issue seriously and release a new driver update for the RX 500 and RX 400 series as soon as possible. If someone from the AMD support team can confirm that an update is coming soon, that would be greatly appreciated.
Please do not send generic responses like those given to other users in the past. I am looking for a clear answer about whether AMD will release an update for the RX 500 series soon.

If you’re still running an AMD graphics card that predates the Radeon RX 5000 series, you’re not going to get any more performance-boosting driver updated from the manufacturer. The company says that while it will still provide “critical” security and bug fix updates to Polaris and Vega series cards, it won’t be fine-tuning them like newer GPU products. Those are primarily the Radeon RX 400 and RX 500 series, respectively, as well as the Vega family of graphics cards. If these restrictions permanently prevent the game from running, why don’t AMD and NVIDIA release updates for these GPUs to make the game playable? This is frustrating, messy, and completely unacceptable. How am I supposed to enjoy this game if I can’t even run it, even though I have a GPU that can handle any game just fine?
I’ve waited years for this game to be released on PC, and now it won’t even start. That’s just unfair and extremely disappointing. The company should either fix the game and remove the restrictions causing these issues or AMD and NVIDIA should release immediate updates for their GPUs to ensure the game runs smoothly without errors.
Who agrees with me on this? Personally, I will not sell my graphics card just to buy another one that can run the game—I would lose a lot of money. Thank you.

I installed base game (tried both torrent and MegaUp), updated them in the order as the 4 updates go but in the end I can not open the game, nothing happens. When base game is unziped I can open it but there are a lot of bugs. Should I open the game every time I update it just so the update confirms or something like that?

Played the game at a friends house two years back and it hooked me.
So, my question is is there a version that runs the game smoothly? Probably not, considering its my cpu bottle-necking me but if i can find out which version I could potentially see if my cpu a handles it. though i doubt it. Its a tall order to see what version responds the best with my cpu but it could be worth asking. As mentioned in my previous comment I have seen people run the game on the cpu so hoping honestly. Also i saw people running the game on GTX 1050ti on low settings and it plays all things considered.

Most of SCENE GROUPS releases have been like this for the past few months bro. AV not only scans for viruses, but also for pirated files. Click on the "RELATIONS" tab, you will see a company called "MarkMonitor Inc.", it is the biggest anti-piracy company in the world right now. Their bot automatically scans all files from SCENE GROUPS, sending the hash of the scene files to the AV database. That's why you see most of the AVs warning, labeled "Hack", "Hacktool", "Crack",...
One more thing, this is a SCENE release (What is Scene? you should search the wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez_scene and google about this, they will explain it better than me). In general, the scene is decades old, certainly older than you (and me). It is completely safe. All the pirates you download from the internet, including movies, games, software, music, anime... are mostly leaked from the Scene. In other words, most uploaders re-upload from SCENE. If SCENE uploads the virus, then it will surely be the end of pirates.
In case you want to check exactly if these files are valid, you can use predb sites, for example: https://www.srrdb.com/browse/category:pc/order:date-desc/1. You use some popular software like 7z to get the CRC-32 hash of the file you just downloaded, compare it with the information on predb site, if they match then you are safe.
Six months into downloading pirated games so I simply never knew about The Scene just thought the uploader uploaded all the files from his own purchased copy of the game. Thpough I do know cracking and breaking through the denuvo and anti-cheat also factors in. Thanks for clearing it up as I've seen pirate sites get bad reps as people say they just simply downloaded viruses.

In the future, when you use releases from SCENE, they usually have the string "RUNE, CODEX, SKIDROW, RELOADED, PLAZA, TENOKE,..." at the end. You can always check the safety yourself via www.srrdb.com/browse/category:pc/order:date-desc/1, just add a get CRC32 tool (like 7z) and it's enough :D
The updates here will not work for you:
In the future, before applying an update that you are not sure whether it works or not. It is best to copy the game folder somewhere for backup. Then apply the update, if it works, it is good. Otherwise, you can still go back to the old game folder that was backed up
- Installer: double click installer, point to the game folder, install.
- Copy/paste: copy (override) to the game folder
Whichever way, it's quite easy.If someone is going to ask why it has to be divided into 2 ways? because it depends on how the developer has updated the game. anyways, if you find your OLD save you SHOULD be able to COPY and paste it into the NEW save location and then your save should work fine.
edit- old save should be %SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Documents\Steam\RUNE\2651280
if you can show that emu file, i can tell you close to where your new save location would be. unless the update just broke saves all together.
