I was 90% sure it's a fangame, but seeing a 20 dollar price tag on Steam got me digging further - what with it being way more expensive than I remember the original games being. Apparently, it's part of their series of spinoffs for FNAF 1's 10th anniversary.
So it's official, but probably not really "mainline"?
He has not made a fnaf game since 2018, Steel Wool Studios and now Mega Cat Studios are the ones doing the games, either expanding the new series (Security Breach) or this one, that is a game adaptation of one of the books called Fazbear Fright Stories: Into the Pit
Yeah but for a game to be deemed" official" it has to have Scott's approval at the very least right? That's what I meant, I thought he was just done with the videogame side of the franchise
Yep, Scott heavily supervised how the game gonna be. At the very least he make sure for the game to feel like FNAF and every little detail in the game has to expand either the lore or overall narrative
Which is weird because the stuff that's in the books actively contradicts stuff that was in the earlier games. So is this one going to retcon the first game? This is why I say not even Scott knows what he's doing when it comes to FNAF lore. He has a general idea but doesn't even know how to expand it
As far as the lore goes there's only one retcon, and nothing else. Its the one back in FNAF 4 bc no one able to solve it.
This game isnt a retcon, its an adaptation from the Spin off series Fazbear Fright's Into the Pit book. Its expanding the lore by giving a parallel story of the one that happen in the canon timeline. So dont take it as face value, but take the similar situation/hint and use it to connect the dot.
This doesn't work, I can't start a game or go past the prologue, just sits waiting for more dialogue but nothing happens. I have reinstalled, and updated several different times.
Quite a lot of people have the same exact problem, only to be told to get lost. Gotta love the 13yo gaming community. I don't know whether the game on this page hasn't been updated, or the devs haven't bothered to update their game. But the game is riddled with bugs not just this one. (v1.0.11.6)
There been an hotfix that fix a bug where you can get softlocked at the fifth night in the party room its completly random but the hotfix fixed it when do you know if its been cracked
Christ almighty this released yesterday and already has over a thousand reviews. Fans of this series are truly rabid huh. I must say the art and animation look GREAT.
Help Wanted 2 came out after Security Breach. (December 2023) and that is an official FNAF game. Doesn't matter if it's VR or not, it's made by Steel Wool and Scott Cawthon.
(I'm guessing you probably forgot about that game though since it was VR and a lot of people just don't have access to VR and thus overlook it.)
its the main reason this is getting good reviews devs did good to use sprites instead of 3d garbage who have been used many times and thats a big change, not to mention the animations are very well done
Have you tried installing the latest NET Framework, as well as the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable? (you can download directly from the Microsoft site)
because it looks like your windows is missing the drivers needed to run unity games. so i think you should install those, you can download them directly from microsoft site, these are the necessary drivers that windows should have. or in other words, usually when i install windows, i always install those drivers.

At least we get to try before we buy.
