1st: Back up ur save in "C:\Users\Ur name\AppData\LocalLow\Moon Studios\NoRestForTheWicked\DataStore"
2nd: Pay attention to these file: "Account_76561197960271872", "Character_1bebfe49-c5b1-42f7-9541-5f2299e5be56", "Realm_fe7b8ec7-2334-4c40-a122-939a33793b90" (This is my symbol for my character & realm, yours will be different but the same structure)
3rd: Open ur Character & Realm file with Notepad and look for this part ["accountId":] then change the ID to the same as id in Account file (for me its 76561197960287930 in Hotfix 4 to 76561197960271872 in Hotfix 6)
Note: if you have more than 1 character & realm then you have to do all the same step!
A reminder to those who have purchased an ingame house:
It's difficult to explain, but when you update your character ID the way you do as the above poster described, it will invalidate your home as if you changed accounts entirely.
The fix is kinda simple, kinda not. Each new hotfix will generate it's own Account.dat when you open it and let it load to menu. If it doesn't generate a 'new' account.dat, create a new character open its file in notepad to confirm its ID. Find the account.dat with that ID - DO NOT RENAME IT. Change the ID within notepad to the ID of your old character, and it will then begin registering you on the newly updated version of the game and you will be able to enter your home. Sorry if my explanation is kind of choppy or hard to follow.
It's unfortunate to see so many issues and negative reports surrounding this game. This was supposed to be a groundbreaking game. Hopefully it will be significantly improved by the time it comes out of Early Access.

yeah i forgot mention the terrible optimization, same stuttering at 4k as you get at 480p, the studio needs to stick to 2d or call in for help, they've been on this for 6+ years
Yeah optimization is super bad and idk the game has some weird frame lags that causes rubberbanding. One second I'm on top of a tower and the next I'm at the end of the world. I see no hope for the game like this.
Thanks a whole lot to whoever uploaded this! I wish gaming studios would still provide demos like back in 2015, so I could test the waters and see how I like the game. Instead I'll pirate, I guess.

Hi. I did what you followed (as stated by a comment I made above) with the api64 and such... and I've noticed that the tools' durabilities are still at 50. I'm not super well educated on file stuff, so I'm wondering if it's the same for you and if replacing the .dll is responsible. Sorry for bothering and i hope either you or someone else can answer this.
Edit to add: not made a new character to test it, but can confirm switching back to the new dll makes old saves unreadable. This is really unfortunate if every patch/update is just going to nuke our saves.

This game is utter shit. The story might be decent, but every thing ellse suck.
The grapic settings are none existant. The optimization is shit even on a hig end gaming rig.
The controlls are extremely unresponsive. Even in Exlusive full screen the game activly tries to make you click outside the "Game window".
The screen is fixed just like the Diablo games and so on, the issiue is that shit in the higher background still renders, and blocks the view of the screen. So you can't see enemies, or stuff you are trying to run past.
The tutorial is horrible for several reasons, of which you'll figure out on your own real fast if you get the game. But in short, the carracter won't jump cross gaps where the tutorial says it will. The carracter wont grab on to the wall and walk close to it to cross the gap. the carracter wont eat when you press "F" as instructed. And so on.
The combat in this game is extremely stiff, and unresponsive. Blocking, dodging and parrying is more of a suggestion than anything and often won't do shit. leading to you getting hit. The only thing in combat that seams to do it's job is light and heavy attacks, the rest is seamingly just a waste of time.
The carracter customization is extremely limited, and the look of the carracter bodys are grose as F. Especially the male carracters, with tiny chicken legs and canserous tumours to arms.
You can't quit the game by pressing ESC than quit. you have to go trough Tab or ALT+F4.
This game can't even be properly defended with the "It's still in EA" argument. I don't see this game getting any significant better. Sure some things can be improved, like the optimisation. But other things are pretty much carved in stone, and would require significant re programming and edits to the fundation of what they have.
I'm glad i got to try it for free, so i wouldent had wasted my money on this garbage of a game. The previous games these devs made might had been good, But this one should had been put down werry early. They did a Bethesda: Fallout 76/Starfield here. they did not look at ANY similar games and had a long tought about what made them good. and what to add to their own game and what to improve upon, and what to avoid.

but the breach update came out a few days ago and i downloaded, now there are hotfix updates and how do i download them without downloading the whole game bro
I can confirm. I've launched the game twice to check if it's just some first-launch hiccup, but each time it started off with a black screen and music, after a couple minutes I got logos to play and around 5 minutes in, the actual menu showed up. Just don't let Windows force-close it if the "app is not responding" prompt comes up and it will eventually load.
Up to the end of the tutorial area, the transitions were all strangely long, though nothing like the initial boot-up. I don't think I'll be playing more to keep testing, the game feels a bit clunky and unpolished to me.
Thanks for replying, guys. I was really frustrated, so I ended up uninstalling the game and deleted all the installation files. It seems like they're still working on updates, so I'll just hold off for a while before downloading it again. I'll give it another shot once they have sorted out some of the issues.

Hey so... issue. Using the strategy to change the account ID of the character makes it so that you're.. I suppose, registered as a new account entirely. I didn't think it went that far I was hoping it just changed the version of the game..
I logged into the new version now and my ingame home (the 30 silver manor) is now registered as 'privately owned by someone else' and i 'cannot enter'.
Please keep your old game files just in case, I'm going to go into the old version to see if I can recover my loot that I had stored before logging into the new version. Does anyone have a fix for this or am I just scooped lol
Edit to confirm: Yeah, reverting back to the old account ID allowed me to enter my home and get my shit out. I'm going to try fiddling around and maybe renaming the NEW account ID to my character ID and... seeing if that works miraculously or not.
Hello to anyone reading this! I feel smart - I managed to fix it.
The steps are rather simple, but please note that I did not need to change the DLL of the new version to an older version! It's working fine.
Keep track of your account.dats - the last version you were playing on has it's own account.dat, as will the new version. Load up the new version up to the menu, then quit out so you can go into it's Dat file.
The last version ended in 930 for me, the most recent one ended in 700. Go into the most recent one (hopefully the same series of numbers across everyone, I'm not sure) and note the following line {"id":"76561199953179700","name":
You're going to change the ID within the newest DAT to the account ID of your last used DAT (for me, the one that ended in 930). Do NOT rename the file! Keep it as 700! Simply replace the ID within the file using notepad, save, and make your character and realm ID's the same (for me, 930, not 700).
didnt work, if if i start the newest hotfix 4 version, there issnt a new dat.. my old dat from the hotfix 1 version was already 930... so only the hotfix1 version are having my files,, the latest hotfix4 version not because it doesnt create a new dat for me :( i can start the hotfix4 version but dont create new dat or can see my old saves :(
Do me a favor when you can load up Hotfix 4 and create a character, go into that character file and then I want you to examine it's ID and tell me what it is.
For me, the Dat number was, I believe, the same as the first patch.. funny enough. Go ahead and do that, and you should be able to follow my guide from there. Convert the ID of that Dat to the 930, without renaming it as I said, and let me know how it goes.
i started hotfix 4 and created a new char and realm. the new dats for the the new char and realm in hotfix has this ID inside. "76561198129133722" what now ?
If you have the same account_76561198129133722.dat, open that up into Notepad and change the "id" number inside notepad to the dat of your OG character (that you want to transfer). The file name should remain as it is, just change the id number inside using notepad and make sure your realm and character file are using that same ID number too.
sry i cant help your, but maybe you can help me. so you did the change id thing to play the hotfix 4 ? and it worked ? you can play your old saves and old char ? but only your bought house is gone ? any other things works with old saves on hotfix 4 ?
Replaced this version's crack with a crack named "GoldBerg and Steamless" and everything worked back, my save data is back and I can continue the game. I don't know if I can link to the crack.
So does updating to the new patch just nuke our save? Is there no way around this? I had quite a decent bit of progress I don't really wanna go through it all again.

following your steps i was able to transfer my save file, i however am not experiencing the save exit character thing, i tried playing a little bit then exiting the game then relaunching and continued where i left.
I am able to confirm saved data as well; perhaps it's just that people aren't realizing they actually need to interact with a checkpoint (name escapes me at the moment; an echo? Whisper?) in order to save their data. It's an annoying thing to be sure as I'm use to just exit-saving but hopefully people read this comment later down the line.
Run the new version of the game wait for the menu to load and quit. This will create a file called "Account_76561197960287930.dat" in the location below.
Go to "c:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Moon Studios\NoRestForTheWicked\DataStore" back up save the folder.
Open in editor "Account_76561199068980312.dat" where you can change the values
I demo it for 1,5 hour on laptop with some i5,16GB,1050, 4GB, and CPU was only around 40% but GPU was always 100% no matter what settings I chose. Nice game, only thing that I really don't like so far is fixed camera.
