Update: I finished the game. I give it an 8 out of 10. Hell, maybe even a 9. I played both campaigns which are practically the same. Maybe 10% different max. I may do another playthrough just to experience the director's commentary out of curiosity.
I think 2 groups of gamers will not enjoy this game: 1. Those who prefer action-packed horror games like Resident Evil 4 Remake. They'll find this game boring. 2. The diehard fans of the original Alone in the Dark, who expected a genre-defining game or even a story 100% faithful to the 1992 original. They will feel betrayed.
This game is neither, but accomplishes what it sets out to do; an atmospheric psychological horror inspired by the original story. Definitely recommended.

I'm halfway through the game, and it's surprising me in a good way.
Going in, I had zero expectations. There wasn't much advertising, and it seemed like most of the budget went to paying the two famous actors. But as I've played more, I've found a lot to like.
Here's what's standing out to me:
The game runs smoothly on my average PC.
It nails the gritty and noire atmosphere.
Even the little notes and stories are passionately voice-acted.
A few other things to mention:
The combat could be better. It's not bad, but not amazing either.
The game tries to stick to the original story, which is nice, but it also means there are some limitations. IMO, they could've made the original Silent Hill if they wanted to.
There's a "modern" setting that outright solves the puzzles for you. You can turn it to "classic" settings if you want to think a bit.
The original was one of first PS1 games I played back in the day. I will certainly give this a try. And from the early reviews I've seen it's not a bad game. It may not be masterpiece but certainly not a flop.
The only thing keeping me away for now is murmurs of some bugginess, which may or may not be just rumors. But unfortunately bugs and lack of optimization are to be expected in the first release of a game.
Since we need magazines sell out to gave nice scores? Did you know the game have voice in all letter or files? the game get a solid 7/10 not bad but not very good to it´s ok game.
again, these came from people who PLAYED. the game. a solid 7 seems a bit far fetched and seems to come from people who played the OG versions, or by people who were "Sponsored" by the company. out of 5 stars, most people give this game a 3 stars. thats pretty bad for a game that theyve hyped up, for a while now. the DEMO, seemed promising, but the actual game itself? nah.
