Is this your first time using pirate? It's okay, everyone has their first time, even me more than 10 years ago. I will be happy to guide you. You see the name of this release "Taxi Life A City Driving Simulator-FLT", it's not mine, I just re-uploaded it from SCENE, in this case the FLT team (you don't need to search their website, since it's not public on the internet, websites you find are known to fake and use the names of groups at SCENE).
What is Scene? you should search the wiki and google about this, they will explain it better than me. In general, the scene is decades old, certainly older than you (and me). It is completely safe. All the pirates you download from the internet, including movies, games, software,... are mostly leaked from the Scene.
When you download a game (or anything that comes from Scene) from sites like IGG, you can easily check the legitimacy of the file you downloaded. By using database sites taken from the scene, for example https://www.srrdb.com/browse/category:pc/order:date-desc/1,... You use tools like 7z, to check the file's HASH code, and match it with information from those web pages. If the hashes match, you are completely safe, and vice versa.
Thank you for the info but no, I've been using pirate since about 12 years ago, I know what to do, unpack, etc, and 99.9% of the time, games, movies and other stuff work flawlessly, that's why I like piracy. However sometimes (like this time), opening the .iso unleashed a Trojan (a process literally called TROJAN) that maxed my disc usage to 100% (probably in an attempt to hijack my PC). Thankfully I managed to stop it via task manager and Windows Defender.
I'm not saying you put the trojan there, or that any of the thousands of games on this website have trojans because I've downloaded hundreds of them and they work fine. I've also checked the hash and it's the same as that database that you put there (maybe the original has a trojan?).
Finally downloaded the game directly from skidrow and that one has a different hash but works perfectly fine, further reinforcing my theory that maybe the one in that website you posted was uploaded by someone that isn't FLT and put a trojan in it.
it doesn't matter the number of years you pirate, bro. Since what you said, you don't have the basics of this, you simply use most of the repackages. I don't mean to criticize you, so don't be shy, because in reality, I've been pirate for more than 30 years, and I only knew the basic knowledge 10 years later.
You don't understand anything about the file hash code. Try creating a text file with the content "abc", then use 7z to see its CRC. Now, change the content of that file to "abcd", repeat the same, do you see the CRC code change? => Just make even the smallest change to the file and the hash code will change.
Therefore, people often use hash codes to verify files are valid. For example, there are 3 people: A, B, C. Person A wants to send a file to person C, but for some reason, he needs to send it to B, and ask B to send it to C. So how does guy C know that he gets A's original file, because maybe B will change it, like insert something inside?
So, A carefully told C that, the hash code of the file is "111222333", then, C simply received the file from B, and checked the hash code to see, if it is "111222333", then he must have received A's original file, and vice versa.
This is the same, all releases from SCENE always come with a hash code. As for this game, FLT released it. And you can check the hash code from scene database websites.
Now... do you understand what I'm saying? because if you say it according to your words, then guy C after receiving the file from B, and the hash code is "66666", and he told A that, "66666" is valid :)), and A is... a fake??? The story becomes more unreasonable than ever.
PS: I guess you downloaded the ad file instead of the FLT file. If you don't hesitate, you can send me inbox, with the skidrow link you downloaded, I will check if there is any problem.
Sorry to disappoint you is zero virus and i have premium Norton Antivirus (https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/manufacturer/norton/), not the crap windows defender just block cracked files false positive.. Anyway u can copy name virus and search and if no info means fake positive.
