I played the first game in 2016 and it was surprisingly fantastic. Of course, it's got a 95% positive rating on Steam. And later played Minoria which was meant as a sequel and I believe was equally good. Steam has it at ~85% positive.
This will certainly go into my must-play backlog. This dude knows his metroidvanias alright. Honestly I am surprised it is released in January.
That's indeed true. All of them are decent entries, and the good news is that the first two games are available for free on itchDOTio, the last time I checked. While they're good, I personally see them as trial runs for the fourth game, Reverie.
I presume the developer was experimenting with different ideas in each game to determine the identity they wanted for their IP. We can see the culmination of that work in Reverie Under the Moonlight. That said, the first three are also enjoyable experiences for fans of the series.
