This is a bonafide "New" Scene release despite the fact that this game was officially released in Steam on Dec 22, 2021 (See my comment down below) for an explanation. Enjoy, thanks to IGG-Games.com [admin]~! 😎👍
Man, I wanted to give this a try, but goddammit, my controller doesn't work with it. All the face buttons give the same input except B sometimes (which just cancels).
controller problem? i use the PS controller, all good. You can try to download some software, i forget what it call, need to google it yourself. it can let Xbox controller use as a PS one, and opposite way too, i use it before
DW games on PC have weird interactions with controllers. You might have to go into the settings and manually change the inputs to make the controller fully work, I remember I had to do that with some past games
The ini does have listed input stuff, but unless it's incorrectly written, it doesn't seem to properly bind them over. I tried using older iterations of the ini, tried commenting out that section, deleting that section (in case I screwed up the commenting out), nothing.
Hmmmm another thing you could check is if you have steam running at the same time as the game. If not then try adding the game to steam as a non steam game and use big mode's controller settings, that works for some games
As I said in reply to the other guy yesterday, nope. I'm pretty sure it has to do with how koei fucks up their controller settings. I mean,
menu_maru = "A" menu_batsu = "B" menu_4kaku = "X" menu_3kaku = "Y"
that's how it's presented in the ini, ffs. In-game isn't any better, though;
jump = "A" musou_ranbu = "B" flow_attack = "X" react_attack = "Y" trigger_attack1 = "A" special_attack = "B" trigger_attack2 = "X" trigger_attack3 = "Y"
...but every face button just does the same basic attack. There's something fundementally wrong with how it's processing button inputs. I have a similar problem with Wandering Sword, too, but at least there it's more an issue of the buttons aren't mapped right and can't be remapped, instead of each face button doing the same thing.
That's very weird. I remember when I played this game I didn't have that issue but had it with other DW games. Maybe the controller you use has something to do with it too? I'm using a third party wired PS4 controller
Ok, so, I couldn't find a solution for this bug, dunno if you did. However if you really want to play the game you should be able to find the Ali213 release with the Goldberg steam emulator around on other sites and that one does not have the controller glitch. So it's really just TENOKE's crack that's doing something weird
Very weird. I'l download this again and try it for myself to see if I have the same issue as you EDIT: So same issue as you, every button has the same input and no matter what I do I can't change them. I'm completely stumped
What kind of controller are you using? there's many ways to get ps3, ps4 and ps5 controllers to work if you've got one. Look up DS4 Windows. Heck even a Switch procontroller would work easily if you played the game through the steam overlay and enabled the controller to work.
PDP Wired Controller for Xbox One. Works just fine for the majority of games, but some games it just does NOT work at all, because XABY doesn't get properly factored. Even enabling the steam overlay didn't work. Also tried using a Switch controller, and didn't work, either.
Apparently it's a common issue from what I've been seeing, this following post I am pasting is from Dodi's Repacts by Ceum Kun
"Okay, I think I found the fix at another website, Add # before menu_maru or batsu in [INPUTS.MenuControls] at tenoke.ini on Game Folder.
So it will be like this: [INPUTS.InGameControls] pause_menu = "START" change_map = "BACK" guard = "LEFT_SHOULDER" trigger = "RIGHT_SHOULDER" jump = "A" musou_ranbu = "B" flow_attack = "X" react_attack = "Y" #trigger_attack1 = "A" #special_attack = "B" #trigger_attack2 = "X" #trigger_attack3 = "Y"
I have read through your conversation, sorry for the delay in replying. Anyway, through those conversations, you have all the information, hehe :D
I will explain more clearly:
This game is old, and there have been no recent updates, yes.
But why do two posts exist here (the old one has been deleted, @Bowie is right)? because this website actually works automatically. In addition to uploading P2P games, or purchased by ourselves. This site automatically uploads games published by SCENE (specifically TENOKE in this case). That's to ensure that the games will always be uploaded the newest and fastest. The goal is that I want to make this website more like a comprehensive library of all the games you can find on the internet.
Previous old release was of P2P, and TENOKE just released it today. As we all know, SCENE releases are always more stable, so the old post has been deleted.
@Bowie: you can see the information about the cracked group here, my friend :D (or if you want to see the games from the scene updated in real time, you should look at the domain pcgamestorrents.com, it 100% automatic operation):
@rob Conner: Thanks for your detailed information, my friend. You explained everything I needed to explain :D
@ALL: Wishing you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy new year
Tenoke just released their crack pack for it. That's what the datestamp is from. The previous release, if they had it before, would have been one based off of an Ali213 release.
The release group's name is displayed in the torrent link in the upper part of this game page. IGG-Games.com [admin] prefers to post the information in this format as perhaps it saves space in the game page's title (There is more space in the area reserved for the torrent link than there is space reserved in a game page's header section). Also, searches for game titles would take less time if the titles were not too lengthy. 😉
Tenoke's release doesn't say exactly what was updated with the game in their latest release but Kain Yusanagi is right though, the post date of this game page's listing is derived from that group's NFO. ❓😐 😉
However, I think that there is some confusion going on here - I searched further and could not find any other earlier Scene or P2P releases of the PC version of "Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires" which was released in Steam on Dec 22, 2021. Codex had earlier released back on February, 2018 (NFO is down below), "Dynasty Warriors 9" (See Steam page here) but NOT "Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires" (See Steam page here). Although similar, they are two separate games. So, it appears that although this game was officially released in retail two years ago, no one in the Scene or P2P had released it before!
This a bonafide "New" release~!
Like I have said to other members in the past, "Just because a game or game update was already officially released in Steam doesn't necessarily mean that it is also already released in the Scene or P2P. It takes time to crack, test (In the case of updates, to see whether a cracked update works with the cracked game executable, as per the Scene rulez) and then release a game or game update."
(See full sized version with nicely rendered ASCII art here)
To add to this: I said, "The previous release, if they had it before, would have been one based off of an Ali213 release." To clarify, Ali213 don't crack games, they are a P2P repacking group that gets the clean files and shares them, which people can then apply steam unlockers and Goldberg Emu and similar to make them work by bypassing, versus a true crack. So this is a true new release, as Rob said.
There WAS a previous release. When I originally made my comment there were two posts, this one and an older one. Then the older one was deleted. This game has been cracked for two years now, you can still find Fitgirl's repack easily enough and her repack is based on the Ali213 release
Yeah, that's what I thought. This very version (Empries 1.0.1.1) was available 2 years ago with online through Goldberg. I thought I was imagining things for a moment :) But, as Kain Yusanagi mentioned below, apparently that is not considered a 'true crack' but rather a bypass. Now, it is officially cracked by Tenoke.
Yeah I distinctly remember playing it back when it was first released and thinking the character creator overclomplicated things. You had clothes layer and an armor layer instead of having simple outfits like previous entries
It appears that this situation is even more convoluted than it was initially thought to be. I had performed a wildcard, "contains" search on two different iNFOrmation sites (See here and here) which post notices of official Scene and P2P releases, for previous releases of "Dynasty Warriors 9" which would also include previous releases of "Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires" in the results. As you can see from both result sets, there was no notice of an official previous Scene or P2P release of the PC version of "Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires" (The "Venom" release made on 2022-02-11 is for the Nintendo Switch platform, Therefore "NSW" is present in their release NFO's title and the release by "DUPLEX" is self explanatory [PS4]).
However, in all fairness, I searched the official site of "FitGirl", the famous repacker and indeed saw that she had earlier released on February 22, 2022, a repack based on a crack "released" by "ALI213" (See here). So then why was there no notice about "ALI213"'s release on those two trusted iNFOrmation sites? Well, it appears that the entire Scene has shunned "ALI213", claiming that "ALI213" steals cracks rather than crack their own games (See "3DM" here about "ALI213"). And since those two trusted sites only follow what is going on within the Scene and P2P in terms of officially released games, there is no record of "ALI213's crack" nor of "FitGirl"'s repack (I guess that is the curse of using a crack that is "released" by "ALI213"). "ALI213" is considered an outcast by the Scene (I don't know what the P2P community thinks about "ALI213" - I guess that at best they're neutral about that group and at worse they shun that group as well) and therefore blacklisted from anything that is Scene related.
I was not in any way, trying to discredit you, Bowie. I still stand by what I had said earlier, though. This is a "New" release as far as the Scene is concerned but technically, you are correct as well. So honor is preserved for all of us. I didn't think that this game release would involve so many politics. What a steaming mess! 🙂 😵💫 💩
I hope that there are no hard feelings between us especially during the holidays. I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas~!
Check Rin, and you'll see them plenty, without anyone crapping over them, so I'd say that outside the scene... scene, most people just don't care about it, so long as it works or can be made to work easily enough, eg. clean steam files that can have a crack tool and emulator applied easily enough to make it run.
Yes, I also have an account there under a different username but I don't frequent that site. I found out about the SmartSteamEMU and Steamless from that site (There are a lot of creative freelance devs there willing to share their applications and ideas).
Here's how I personally would prefer how games are sourced: DRM-Free (GOG - No cracks to worry about failure/problems) > Scene cracked (Most stable next to DRM-Free because releases must follow Scene Rulez) > P2P (Quality may vary [No rules are followed] but is consistent with a given group or individual cracker) > independent, unaffiliated groups/individual crackers (Quality is unknown as it can vary).
Unless you've actually conducted a World wide poll and can show data to back up your statement, I don't know if you can say that about "most people". Anyway ...
Not necessarily. The title could simply show the date the game is uploaded to IGG. They did upload the original none-Empire edition back in 2018. It might be that the latest update was missing and it is uploaded now.
That is, unless there is an update to the game that Steam doesn't know about 😄
I been playing dynasty warriors since it first come out i played every single one of them almost theyre my fav series of games , in particular the empires love them specially dynasty warriors 5 empires is the best one
There is English support via the English interface and English subtitles. For those that are just wondering about what is the difference between "Dynasty Warriors 9" and "Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires", see this article. In a nutshell, it seems that "Dynasty Warriors 9" concentrates more on complex strategy while "Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires" concentrates more on action (Simple strategy is involved but there is more of it than in the other game which makes sense but there is definitely more action in "Empires"). Both have elements of strategy and action but differ in WHERE a player's efforts will be concentrated upon. Basically, if you prefer to carefully formulate a few long, drawn out strategies in a game mixed with some action gameplay then go with "Dynasty Warriors 9" and if you prefer to create a bountiful series of short but simple strategies (Maybe "Tactics" would be a better description) and then jump right into tons of action then go with "Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires". As for this game being now just released in the Scene, hey, "Better late than never". Click to watch the full GhostBusters 2 "Titantic clip".
It's the other way around actually, Empires is the more strategy based one while the mainline titles are the more action focused ones. Empires is focused on complete map domination. Meaning that you can join a pre existing empire or start your own and the n strategically conquer all of china by developing your lands, recruiting new characters, forming alliances, bolstering your defenses, developing your economy, etc. There's way more strategy involved in Empires
