My jaw is on the floor. Had absolutely no idea this was getting a re-release. It is getting obliterated in the Steam reviews though. It seems like they didn't do it justice.
Many years ago, a game dev friend of mine asked me to play the first 10 minutes of the first game. He said, he used that 10 minutes as a crash course for interns on how to design videogames. Point being, the series is part of videogaming history. I wished they cared more remastering it.
I remember this played it like more than 20 years ago its a cool fps one of the first with gore - cursing gangsta mafia style and has a great soundtrack too and i hope this reloaded version to be even better for the game i could not believe it when i saw the title!! I ask you about this and you guys deliver it so thanks a lot for this and have a nice day you guys rule!!ππππ Well it does not work for me after the first vid it start loading the game but it never ends loading!! Any help or work arround to make this work??
Itβs just loading for a minute or so, the Loading logo freezes like it seems to have crashed, but then the game starts. XBox One Controller is supported.

Works well here.
Might help if the game is placed on a different drive or in a different folder other than which it got extracted to. Always launch the game as admin. Have your VC++ up to date. Windows 10/11, latest build, latest graphics driver, latest CPU chipset drivers.
I think launching "Reloaded_SP" as admin would be enough to make it work. I played the 1999 original also back then (bootleg DVD, game is banned in Germany) and this runs fine on modern machines as well.
I think, it will run. You will need to wait with patience at the loading screen. Maybe somewhere Iβve got that bootleg disc still. No original game for us germans back then. π
Ah ok yeah i will wait for the loading screen to pass but they say that they already patch it so i might take a look on it and ask here for an update 1.01 or 1.02 that i guess fix a lot of problems people say in St...m and stuff!!π I Just asked for the update they have 1.01 that fix some stuff so it will be even better!!
Good point. It's not the smoothest running game, even with a 4090, so some patches are absolutely welcome. After like an hour or so, I didn't feel like going on playing, so nostalgia isn't enough to make this game a successful release for those who developed it. Steam reviews, yes, I browsed through them. Mostly negative. Well, it's the typical reason for a 2023 video game: Unfinished/unpolished state π
Well yeah typical for most of the games nowadays with a dozen of day one problems and bugs that needs a dozen of updates to make it work the way it should! Look at the problematic cyberpunk that ok you can play it now its better with all that patching but day one and for a long of time it was very bad!! I have a 3090 24GB but if you tell me that even with a 4090 there are frame rate problems to run this old graphics kind of remastered but a little remastered and old school gameplay and it does not run well it needs heavy patching for sure!! The should do a remastered version of this with better gameplay mechanics, better graphics and stuff like they did other company of course with Mafia 1 3d person shooter that the remastered was not bad at all i only missed the old first game music of this for the remastered.
Mafia 1 got a fully fleshed out remake, which I still have to play. It's in my Steam for quite some time now. Mafia II was a remaster only. I actually enjoyed Mafia III as well.
For Kingpin right here, it's the random hiccups during gunplay, which hinders it from super fluent gameplay, but it's not a complete wreck. Getting stuck in place can happen, the very first loading screen ingame took a while to finally fade away. It just needs patches, as every game does. It's definitely playable, I would say. I'm always having my trusty controller at hand, so I cannot say anything about mouse & keyboard gameplay.
Then i'll wait for the 1.01 or 1.02. They seem to be fast patchers since that in less than 24h they already released a patch on STEAM based off a few bugs reported by people

Going to bed now, good night or...good day! π
Will wait then
