120FPS? ok, i'll be setting it at 60. why? unlike devs who do this, I DO NOT WANT MY PC TO MELT!

ever more advanced graphics? ok, how much money will i need for PC upgrades to play your game?

120FPS? ok, time to set the frame cap to 60 OR use RivaTuner Statistics Server to force it to run at 60 if there's no in-game setting.

devs, we gamers are not MADE OF MONEY! most, likely, find a $1.2k rig like mine rather expensive.

stop intentionally TRYING to destroy gamers hardware with your BS! there are limits to how much a PC can handle. stop trying to MELT them!

i turn down the settings to medium or lower in most games because medium or above typically makes my pc HOT TO THE TOUCH! which tells me the game was made by inept programmers who don't know what they're doing.

it's not 120FPS, it's UP TO 120FPS, nobody, even the devs are forcing you to play at 120fps so stop whining.

that's not the problem. the problem is that more and more devs keep releasing games with the default settings set to max.

this means the game runs extremely HOT until you turn down the settings. and what does "hot" mean in this context? it means your pc hardware runs hot which can lead to hardware DAMAGE if not addressed. typically by reducing the frame rate and other graphics settings in a video game.

this was a problem in the Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord remake because the game released with an uncapped (infinite) frame rate.

the solution was to download the third party apps, MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner Statistics Server, and use them to force the game down to 60 or 30 FPS.

most people don't have, and likely can't afford, top of the line hardware for pc gaming. so, most people can't handle much more than medium graphics settings and i really doubt many people want their PC to MELT because the game devs did something stupid like defaulting the game to max possible settings.

so, with all of this in mind, i GET to whine because it's MY PC that's at risk as a consequence of developer stupidity.

16GB RAM
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900 2.40 GHz 16 core
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070

yeah, sure, totally a toaster...totally not a decent pc for $1.2k. it's not my fault game devs have been obsessed with pushing graphics to the limits for years which necessitates ever more advanced system requirements and makes the hardware run hot.

is it...poor shaming RICH BOY?

this game was garbage in the n64
the only thing that really got improved was the fps, everything else is pretty much the same

What boggles my mind is how so many people still think this game was great back then and were so eager at the possibility of a remaster, like none of them ever played the previous Turok games, both of which were astonishingly superior. Frankly, I don't think any amount of makeup can fix this game; it is indeed as subpar, mediocre and boring as the 2000 release.

All 3 Turok games were garbage. Rose tinted glasses. What a complete joke compared to masterpieces like Quake or Powerslave.

annnd prtsc key doesn't work properly with this game.

edit: eh...this games boring anyway... and more linear than FF13! gonna emulate the first 2 games for N64 instead.

let's see...settings...display...

antialiasing, motion blur, depth of field, ambient occlusion, bloom, height fog, outdoor shadows, shadow resolution, FOV, brightness...CRT Emulation Settings...

NO FRAMERATE setting! NO resolution setting! NO windowed/borderless/fullscreen setting!

so, pull up RTSS and set it to 60 that way and you'll have to alt+tab as it blocks the windows key.

edit: my mistake. they have TWO separate graphics settings menus. the above is visuals, display has the actual frame rate and resolution/window settings.

Lol, they remastered it so good that they even cut the crying little kid's face up close during the intro scene, which look horrendous in the original game. He's still ugly as hell, though.
