I mistyped the version number in the rar file. Specifically "Coral.Island.v1-218.part1.rar", but actually in the game it is v1-221. So don't be confused, sorry for the problem ;)
Not actually a 1.0 release. Avoid until all main quest content is completed and added to the game, at least. Getting a WIP tag and "cutesy" comment that content isn't finished in what is supposed to be the full release of the game is complete bullshit.
The game has a lot of positive reviews, but the one constant in the negative reviews is basically what you just said. It's easy to tell the fanbois apart from the legit reviews when all the negatives say the same thing.

There's plenty of people defending it saying that the devs DID communicate it... in Discord, and nowhere else, not even Kickstarter (there are people angry it supposedly went to 1.0 release who still haven't gotten their kickstarter keys yet, for perspective). Nowhere on Steam, on Xbox or PS storefronts, nothing. They've been actively promoting it as a 1.0 full release. Oh, and there are some white knights trying to say that the concept and term "1.0 release" and "full release" don't have common standards let alone industry standards. That one was incensing.
ye honestly probably gotta wait a year in a half for to be fully released, though it'll probably be decent when it's actually fully released, think it shoulda just done it like sandrock ( even though it had some bugs, but they fixed them pretty quick ) did and just wait longer for it to be fully done instead of rushing out.
The positive reviews come mostly from the people that didn't encounter the WIPs or simply ignored them because, like you said, they are fanbois. Because until that moments the game is actually fun and good, you can still play and enjoy it for days if not weeks. . But I agree with Kain, wait until the 2024 update. They have a list on what they still need to achieve somewhere online, only after that the game is finished.
Because all the main questline content is stuff that was part of the kickstarter rewards, so they only half-assed it and then (only on Discord) told people that they were going to release it as a 1.0 when it had all the base non-kickstarter goal stuff in... but they left a ton of material in for those kickstarter goal things, instead of cutting it out and then introducing it as a whole thing, or working out a satisfactory end point to terminate the quests at their current point and then start up again when they add all the rest of the content, which is what they should have done. Instead we got half-assed WIP content in a supposed 1.0 release.
As some have mentioned below, the game is NOT finished despite it's 1.0 release.
My daughter however loves the game so I went ahead and bought it for her.
The latest legit version is buggy as fucking hell. Our current game is screwed as grass keeps growing but you can't cut it or remove it. You also can't plant anything where it's growing.
It also hitches constantly where as the previous version that I originally got from here did not have those problems.
Another problem is and it may be intentional is that gifts to Townies don't give you as much favor as they did previously.
These are the minor problems, well the grass bug sucks and now half her current farm is unusable but my personal game the save file got corrupted and I just said fuck it.
Hello! I agree with Clireord, the game was in a very good shape in early access already (to a surprising degree) - personally, the only bugs that actually prevented me from progressing in some quests have been fixed. The only exception is some content that devs promised in "some time after the launch", but hey, that's expected. :)
Wish I had the chance to reply earlier, sorry about that.😅I was talking about the Merfolk questline, these days a lot of people would even consider it DLC (let's not go there), in that case it would make sense it will be patched in a little bit later. Personally I agree with you that it's rushed, they announce content way before it's supposed to be released and the result is a chaotic mix of everything. I just want to stay optimistic because I genuinely enjoy the game and stand by the fact that for early access, it had a ton of good content.
It was a stretch goal that was met, which meant that it was to be incorporated into the main game. Furthermore, it's literally listed as "Main Quest" content. For early access way back when it first released, it had a decent amount of content, but all the easy to create content, dialogue and events, weren't there, and there was so much else that this supposed "full release" didn't have finished, it was rediculous.
I know. I was following the game on Kickstarter and was one of the contributors. All I'm saying that I'm fine waiting 2 months after release or so for a whole new storyline and a new map. It's nothing new these days. As I said before, I agree that the full release was rushed and incomplete, but as for the early access - the whole point of early access was to test it before full release, missing content and bugs were to be expected. Despite that, I enjoyed playing it and spent tens of hours on it. To each their own. 😌 Now please, excuse me, new mods for Project Zomboid await.

Only on a technicality. They've shot themselves in the foot with this one. There's a bunch of completely unfinished content still in this supposed 1.0 release, and I'm not talking DLC link stuff, but core main questline material.

i downloaded the 310 version, this is the first time im facing with this type of files. its not the regular "extract and play" type. it got the crack and update folders, but when i click the update patch and chose the game directory it says its not for the game version i have right now which is still in version 184 that i also downloaded from here. how to fix that? or did i do something wrong?
Probably you need to redownload whole file again because the main file had different version... This is like game Three Kingdoms Zhao Yun, i downloaded the first version when the game uploaded here for the first time and it had updates v1.01 - v1.05 then v1.1.0 came out but former updates are gone and guess what? It's just like you experienced with this game, it says it's not for the game version i had at that time, so i redownload the game and voila! the updates worked.
Where's the save file folder located? Someone mentioned it was in the 'AppData' folder, but I've yet to locate it there. Any help would be appreciated.
This seems to be from rune, rune doesn't have the "copy contents of rune folder to installdir" box ticked by default.
You need to reinstall the game and make sure to check the box, or go into the installer folder,, click the rune folder, and copy the engine folder, projectcoral exe and projectcoral me files and drop them into wherever the game installed to
