when they are going to learn that making such a long game is going to bite you in the ass more than is going to help you.

Probably around the same time they learn that having a "large world" doesn't mean shit when there's nothing in the world worth discovering. And that using RPG Maker is an automatic pass for most gamers, for fair reason.
