Reading through the game's description what I've gathered is they have trained their GPT model based on their own previous games and apparently the generative engine is embedded within the game without the need for an API for an external engine. The only mention of "online" is when the game is played in Coop or when people want to share their AI generated aliens.
So it seems it may work offline in this cracked version. But of course we won't know until someone tries it and reports back.
Although as consolation, I remember the 3rd one being on Game Pass. So it is possible for this one to get on the list sometime in the future, for those who really want to try the AI feature.
