You remember Jamie Foxx's take on Electro and the backstory on how he became a villain? It's that with this guy. Lost his arm after a stray shot, now is the neutral bad guy for both sides...which sounds interesting and corny in a way. This is the same series where a robot (Nightshade) identifies as non-binary. So.....uh... take it as you like.
I've never been too sure why transformers need to be a he or a she anyway. They certainly have no biological reproduction that requires a male and a female. They can be whatever gender they feel they are most like. Or in this Nightshade's case, none at all. Good for them. But heck I'm old enough to remember when every TF was a he and they hadn't introduced any females into it at all for the first year or so. :P
