I am a huge Fan of the Tropico-Series(but Trop. 5 wasnt that good). I highly recommend to anyone who loves building/strategy-sims, and want some humour in it? Tropico,i would say has it,funny and complex but not complicated.
It has scenarios,i think tropico 4 has a campaign(alot scenarios ,too). Tropico 6 has not a campaign(base game) but you have DLCยดs with some sorta campaign to unlock next maps,so its still very enjoyable ๐๐ค
Oh its been awhile,and it wasnt disliking,it was more getting used to it at that time.New game-mechanics like the 4 Epoch-System(Colonial till Modern Times) introduction,and choosing one of only 2 maps in the campaign(which all are No Negatives,but i was big fan of tropico 4,it felt off at that time).
Then i had some problems with the graphics,it somehow was too blurry,even turning off everything(incl. AA) didnt help,color-palette was too bright,fighting the rebels.All this things,which i now enjoy in Trop 6(no graphic problem,too),somehow felt not complete in 5,at that time.
But,as mentioned,i enjoy it now in T6 and the 4 epoch-system brought alot more possibilties(Edicts,Builings etc). And i think iยดll play it after T6 again,just to see why/if it still bothers me. The T5 campaign was very funny,when it comes to "narrative"-driven,i would even say its one of the best in the serie.But for now T 4 is my most favorite:
My Ranking of Tropico-Series(all are good Entertainment in their way):
1.Tropico 4.It felt complete.introducing not much besides right-click bulid-menu and Missions being a part of a "narrative" campign told by Fidel Cas...oh no just kidding.It was our alter ego the dictator,haha Penultimo was so funny,Music just great latin-style,It was perfect for me.
2.Tropico 1.It was totally different at that time.You are dictator on a tropical Island and its kinda funny?WHAT??Have to play it.It had the WOW-Factor for me.
3.Tropica 6.Again it feels complete and The fractions are more demanding,but ist easier than Tro 5.So this one,i think,makes it very accessible to newcomers(Building-Sim).
4.Tropico 5
5.Tropico 3,it was as just a remake with some new mechanics of Tro 1
6.Tropica 2(Pirate Setting way back in the Past,very funny(campaign) and underrated but nothing like T 1 when it comes to governing as a Dictator.I cant get my hands on that somehow,would love to play it again.
