well, i gave this one a try up to midway through chapter 2 and...no. i don't even want to suggest trying this one out to any of my friends.
the graphics look like end of ps2 gen. ranging from meh to "wtf is that?!"
the combat is... devs, you're supposed to LITERALLY make it mash 1 button to win. (X/square in this case) :/
game has over 130 tutorials and you get a MASSIVE text dump of tutorials and plot right from the start which just sucks in general.
and speaking of the plot. they dropped the visual novel approach and instead have all the characters standing around awkwardly af with the UGLINESS of their models on display (clipping and all).
$60? hell no. $30? if you want to... $bargain bin? yeah, probably. this one's a really bad stinker.
i'd say lost song is better than this game. it's that bad.
while i do like thgames of this franchise, the anime is largely responsible for what the modern isekai genre is and that is something i cannot forgive.
that genre of anime is complete garbage nowadays. reincarnating as a sword? a freaking VENDING MACHINE?!
SAO has some goodish games but the damage it's done to an entire genre of anime probably shouldn't be forgiven.
Reincarnated as a vending machine is trash but have you watched the Sword Reincarnation for real? It's pretty good, voice acting and writing is great, like 8.5/10
protag is sent/summoned/brought to a different world, is OP, forms a harem, and goes on an adventure. also, every modern "isekai" show is a video game. why? they ALWAYS have the protag interacting with a video game UI menu system.
all modern "isekai" anime are just slight variations of that copy/pasta format.
and i don't consider shows like .hack or SAO isekai because...they aren't. they're shows about people playing VRMMOs. the protag's are still here on earth while they play the games the show takes place in.
we haven't had many actual isekai shows in DECADES. last i remember right offhand is inuyasha. which technically isn't one as the kagome time travels but it's closer to what the concept was when it was still a genre than any modern show. it wasn't the above format.
though, now that i think of it, maybe inuyasha might be more accurately classified as a love story...maybe?

actually, i saw something FAR more to my interests has started airing recently which is a MUCH better show than any isekai: The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of The Apocalypse
yep! it's time to see Percival's story which takes place 16 years after that of meliodas and elizabeth's long love story! :)

isekai...it's no longer a genre. it's a trope.
