I don't understand why i got all whole picture graphic became black box (graphic characters), so i can only see black box pitch walking, while the background is no prob, try to installing pretty prinny mod but it's getting error or maybe i can't used it proper, anyone have ideas to fix it? my pc specs is amd ryzen 5600G without ext vga, but the iGpu has 1gb

so is this the full disgaea 1? i saw on steam review that disgaea pc is not the whole game that "This is a PC port of the PS2 port, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness"
It's the full game with more content than any other version (If you just try not to see the Disgaea Complete of Nintendo Switch). Not necessary a port it's bad and try to not believe some review random, search information by your own if you can. "PS2 port", that's wrong. It's the original game the version of PS2.
I would like just to say that those are included in the Disgaea 2 pc source in this same website...in the commonreddist file in installation folder of the disgaea 2. If you planned to play all, i bet you already downloaded mora than disgaea 1 only... Then install openAl and vcredist
dude read the FAQ! you need microsoft visual c++ and OpenAl apps to be installed and updated but i bet you already try to download these dll files, which is the worst solution......
coz dll's part of some apps or drivers, like microsoft visual ,openal, or dx but try it, you download that dll, you'll get another error that say another dll is missing
I am not sure what is wrong with this game but it doesnt work just strickly downloaded from here. I had to find the original game and install it. that worked but only original version. i tried to paste this stuff into the folder and overwrite it to update the game but it doesnt work. the game loads then crashes.
Constantly crashing! No matter how many times I've tried I can't even get through the first few minutes of dialog without it stuttering and then crashing. Even when I put it in fullscreen, like I've read some do to fix it, it just doesn't want to work.

FIX! To change the language in english, open 3DMGAME.ini inside the game folder, scroll down and find the line Language=tchinese and change it to English
Honestly, I love the fact they keep posting the updated game. But I tried using the SubData from the last download and used the one posted by @dm8989:disqus . Both times the game crashes as soon as you get to the "Princeeeeee...." line in the intro. The old version (August 23) works fine as long as you use the older versions (June 24) .exe file to start it up. Otherwise the sound loops. Also, two of the characters added in the August version were not unlocked after I beat them the first time (found in Demon Hall Mirror). This could be due to using the old .exe.
that's weird, i haven't had any crash at all, even though i only played till the mid boss, before i had to new game+, since losing to the mid boss counts as an ending.... don't know about unlocking char, cos i've taken a break, after that new game+ btw i think i will only continue, after i bought the game on my steam acc, cos i deem it worth buy, i didn't buy it at launch, cos of all that issue at launch...... edit : oh and the more people asking to igg for an upload fix, the more he will respond, he prioritise upload request that has more people asking for it...

So we just got an updated version, but its not in english. You can edit 3dmgame.ini and change the language from tchinese to english and that fixes the menu to english but not the item names and subtitles. Anybody figure out a fix for the item names and subtitles? edit: not to mention it gets stuck while trying to make a new game O.o doesn't get past the intro dialogue. Guess i'll just stick to the old version
if you still have the old version, then copy the sub data file into the new version folder, and delete your profile in the new version, then start a new game, it should change the text into english, luckily i haven't deleted the old download, otherwise i'm also gonna stuck not being able to play it.

I'd rather not upload it myself since apparently its frowned upon here (see previous comments on this page). But it is possible still to find the torrent for the 24.6 version which should have that file
why is it frowned upon ? on the game request section, there are people uploading games that has been taken down and shared the link in it. edit : oh and i forgot to mention that even IGG thanked her for doing it, since it helps him..
I didn't run into this problem but I think you should install OpenAL. The version that matches this game is OpenAL 2.0.7.0 so you can google that and find an install
Yea its a bug with this version of the game (not with IGG's crack, its just the way the game was released). If you can find the EXE of an older version of the IGG game you can run it with the new update. You can read the comments below there has been plenty of discussion about it
Gonna wait and hope IGG can make the 9/2 version available. This one seems to be unplayable. Constant audio looping from the loading screen on down and I can't get it to full screen mode, even with full screen selected. "Full Screen Window" option seems to have been removed from the options menu and that's the setting that it's stuck on.
As Neoragex said: I replaced the "dis1_st.exe" of this update with the one from 24/06/2016". This fixes the audio looping problem. This version is playable but you need to uses a different .exe to run it.
Thanks for the response. Yes, I saw that post, after I posted the above message. I don't have the 06/24 version of the game, only the current one and the oldest one from February. So I wasn't able to apply the 06/24 exe but I tried it using the one from February. So far it's working, although I haven't played much of the game yet up to this point.
I've asked for this to be updated since I haven't downloaded any of the previous versions and only have this problematic version. Do you perhaps have a source with the exe that can make this work?
I earlier posted a response with some ideas on how to obtain an exe that would work but for some stupid reason the moderator disallowed it. So I guess you're stuck. Thanks IGG.
The 06/24 release isn't available anywhere on the net as far as I know. If you want to try the v1.0 exe with the 08/23 release from here, there's the Digital Deluxe Dood edition that you can get either via torrent or via direct link from the SkidrowReloaded site. I don't know of a way to acquire just the exe from the v1.0 release so you'll have to dl the whole game. Not too much of an issue though since it's only like 500mb.
I've tried that both with the dood edition and the plaza and it didn't work. I'm guessing you need the specific IGG version because maybe its cracked differently. Sadly IGG just replied on the game requests page that they don't have the update for this game :( Atm I'm just playing the unupdated version from launch and hoping I won't get rekt from bugs. I have managed to find a torrent claiming to be IGG's version from 24.06 and there is one blessed seeder still seeding it out. Hopefully the exe from that will work and ill be able to update. Loving this game so far! I'll post back if it works Edit: It's working hooray! Now to transfer over my savegame hrm...
Like "No One" said, the game's has an annoying bug in the music AND voices. Searching in the steam forums, it seems like a lot of people had the bug, but then again, i didn't find a way to fix it besides "joining the beta branch" of the game. Not an option here. Btw, the game was updated like a week ago (9/2/16), though i don't know if that fixes the stuttering. Anyway, i still have the link to the Google Drive Update.24.06.2016 version of the game. just saying if for any reason the IGG Admins didn't make a backup of the links to the old, working version (On a funny aneurysm note, i download it yesterday e.e). I will be glad to put it here if they give me permission. I'm hoping for the fix, i really wanted to play with Pleinair.

9/2 update note Priere and Marjoly have had their move sets corrected. Stabilized more sound effects that were experiencing looping problems. Improved mouse pointer accuracy in menus. Locked major character names so you can no longer change them : It fixes it. Pray this gets an update. Otherwise, stick to older versions.
Found a way to play the 23/08/2016 update. I replaced the "dis1_st.exe" of this update with the one from 24/06/2016, I'd been playing around 18 hours with old and new save files and haven't seen a game breaking bug/glitch. The new content seems to work (I can play with Pleinair at least, haven't tested the other characters) and the annoying sound problem disappeared. The only major thing was that once, i found an enemy with really weird stats on the item world (His exaggerated EXP should have been a warning), killed it and then my character got the same stats & became unable to Lv up. A transmigration fixed the problem. Ah, and had to play till finishing the tutorial on the updated game to make work the update using the old .exe file. Outside of these things, the game works. Changing between versions doesn't break the saves neither so at least this may do the trick as a temporary fix while this gets updated.
Thanks for the tip. I don't have the 06/24 exe file to try but I do have the one from the launch release from back in February. That one seems to be working too, or at least it's fixed the audio skipping. As for the issue you ran into with the enemy with the bugged stats, what did you mean by "a transmigration" for fixing the problem? I'm not sure but I'm guessing I'll probably run into the same issue at some point.
Ah, It's been four days so you probably know by now, but anyway: The transmigration it's a gameplay feature that gives the chance to turn a character back to level 1 and transform it into a different class if you want. When my cleric killed the enemy and got all glitched, i transmigrated her back to a cleric lv.1 and all of her stats returned to normal, retaining almost all her skills she had. Around 70 hours of gameplay and haven't found the same problem again. Maybe i just messed up really badly lol. Anyway, if you happen to find an enemy like that but don't want to transmigrate a character, just leave it be and go to the next floor. If it happens on a normal story map, try to kill it indirectly, like tossing a Prinny or with Geostones destruction. Otherwise, restart the level.
For latest update, 8/23, I am getting stuttering sound when starting the game. Haven't had this problem with other versions so not sure what is going on. Older versions worked fine.
If anyone is having issues with low framerates try turning on or off vsync and if you have missing files or an error just type the file or error in youtube

I didnt install it mylelf (yet), but i guess it will let you choose a folder when you do it. So in that floder there has to be a folder where u have OpenAll executable called OA and something more. I left a link in another comment here, u should check it.
i fixed it actually you have to run the oalisnt.exe that's on the install folder, founder quite a big bug tho, when you queue an attack from a bunch of guys on the same enemy, if the enemy dies before all the attacks execute the remaining chars lost the attack for the turn, i think we will need a patch for NIS to really fix this one tho.
they will remain on playstations if this port proves to be unsuccessful... so if you want more disgaea on pc... pray that the sales would impress nis. I also hope that the complains received by this port won't discourage them for their future releases
Only part 1 is on the pc for now :) the others ARE coming NIS is doing this game as a sorta test for their pc users when this works out the other titles will be released as well. WHEN I do not know but I do know they will come :) Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom will also be made available. Also there is a disgaea 5 as well but that's on the ps4/vita :) for now its rather new
