Is the file size less than 5 MB? Did you get the file directly, or have you used an exe? If the answer to any of the questions is yes, you downloaded an ad. Please try downloading the files again and make sure you get the correct ones.
I'm a bit bewildered by some of the tags. While there are some tense moments, this game really isn't a horror. Nor is it particularly open world. It's rather linear.
I just finished it. :'( It's like 50% Graphics and 50% Story. So if it looks ugly on your screen then just sprint whenever you can. Graphics 8/10 Story 9/10 Movie Material 9/10
3 months late, but I was having the same issue, and they fixed it on patch 1.09. I just downloaded the game from somewhere else, patched to that version, and didn't have that issue anymore.
Where did you download the game from? I wanna play the free roam mode but I'm not sure if this game version has it. Also, where did you get the patches from? Thanks!
Im playing this game again and yes its happening to me too. I read the comments below but seems that we are the only one experiencing this. Maybe this is because of windows 10 or something? Can't find any answers on google. Trying to get the updates, hope it fixes our issue. If you find a solution please share it. thanks!
Basically i couldn't find anything to help this cause. I just had to play the game for like 15-20 mins and save quite often, close the game and re-open it and so on. If i played longer than this time then the game just froze or lagged badly. So this is my only option for you to have a smooth gameplay :)
I havent experienced that yet since I can play an hour. Do your system meet the min requirements? I did some things to fix the issue but sometimes it comes back again. Here is what I did:
Set to run as admin always
Set win 8 compatibility
Added suffix "-force d3d9" on the shortcut target location. It looks like this: D:\Games\Firewatch\Firewatch.exe -force d3d9 Sometimes it doesnt lag when looking at interactibles but sometimes it does. lol. Havent updated the game yet Quick specs: Win 10 64bit latest i5 2nd gen 4gb ram - this one I dont reach the 6gb requirements but the game only uses 1gb ram even on ultra GTX 1050 ti
Cool! I definitely think you should try to do the stuff I did. And of course make sure that you got all the redistributables the game needs. Ive been playing for a few hours now and already reached day 77. Its not lagging too much anymore and if it did, its quite bearable compared to before. Loading a new day just takes too much time though.

I just finished playing the full game. The game is FANTASTIC! It's very emotional, has a lot of humor, and most of the times sad... I was actually crying at the end... RAM is rarely a problem, if you have 8 GB that goes a long way, the main reason for bad performance in that the CPU or graphics cards aren't capable enough

Every time I try to play this, as soon as the main menu loads, the game acts like I am constantly pressing down on the keyboard/controller and will not stop trying to go down. How do I fix this? The game is fully unplayable like this.
Hi, I get the same issue as many others on this comment thread. This is that when I press 'New Game' and select a slot, it loads up about 25% of the Firewatch logo but it then says that it has stopped working and I am forced to 'Close Program'. I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this. Thanks
You can only do that if you buy the game. It's linked to Steam, so you can't do it with a cracked copy. I'd suggest not doing anything online with a cracked copy, anyway.

I downloaded and cracked the game, but when I try to open it it just starts Steam. I logged out of Steam to see if that would change anything (because that usually works for Origin, so why not) but it just takes me to the login screen. Did I do something wrong?

i mean turn off ANTIVIRUS THEN CRACK if that does not work try turning off antivirus reinstalling and still have AV turned off and then crack then still have AV off then play game
when you download part 1 and part 2 you must extract only part 1 in one folder , then you will get IGG-Firewatch.iso or something like that it will probably have cd icon, then you download poweriso or daemon tools if you have not already then with one of those programs you mount ISO file (check the tutorial for that) then you install the game and then right click on mounted ISO file and click open then copy the crack files from CODEX folder and paste them to where you installed the game ..... hope i helped [facepalm] :) :*

The game worked just fine until I tried to load a previous save...Now it just keeps crashing, as if the crack wasn't working. (But it -was- working when I started a new game.)

When ever i click New Game its just ends up doing this every time, the most its ever loaded was 1/3 of the way :L please I don't know if this game is any good and is worth my money :L

my video card only supported directx 10 my old one supported directx 11 and the game runs on dx 11 so you need to force it to directx 10 like this: open you shortcut of firewatch do u see target? type space and then type -force-d3d10 or -force-d3d9

And i can run this game on lowest resolution and grafics with an: geforce 310 m (dx 10.1 using 9) 4 gb ram an intel i3 with good framerates (almost) 60 fps while others with gaming pc's cant run this game on lowest i dont get it!

Goto the IGG firewatch folder you downloaded, open the dvd drive, goto codex, first three steam api items copy and paste into where you've downloaded firewatch, bam launched :3 hope i helped
