it keeps on telling me that i'm missing files, all of which are .dll, i changed my compatability to windows 7 and ran as admin but nothing happened

It works perfectly. I changed the compatability to run on Windows 7, I have a 64 bit setup too and it's all good. No missing files for me.

I have the same problem as Liett Cross and running as admin doesnt help, neither does downloading that dll from internet, as then the error changes to the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)

right click on the .exe, then activate compility for windows 7 (because every game works with it) and try retry running it as administrator

actually o7b error can be caused of: net framework. directX. visual c++ and others, but i'm asuming you got this error cuz you got some corupted ,dlls, that mean you need to reinstall DirectX runtime. Here is my tip, before you install DirectX, if you are on x86 machine go to system32 write d3dx9 and delete all of them,then instal DirectX. If you are on x64 machine go to SysWOW64 and delete all d3dx9 then install Directx. good luck!
