(i don't know if this work for because mine is download from torrent) after you extract the winrar there should be a resident evil 8 folder went you open it there is a folder name rune if you open it there like three files name steam emu, steamapi64dll , steam api.me what you need to do is copying that three files and paste on the resident evil 8 file (after you download/setup the game) after you paste it. it should be able to open the game (sry for the bad english)
I downloaded the crack fix, applied it, tried to run the game as administrator, but it still sends me straight to the crash report screen. Help? :( I updated all of my drivers, restarted and re-downloaded the game three times already

I think in this case maybe your windows is missing something to launch the game. Can you use canyourunit to check if your computer is compatible with the game?

Go into the Iso file and under Runn or one of the folders you will find the Steam files, Copy and paste all the files in the root game folder. Replace when prompted and you should be good to go.

Not true. I have Meta Quest 2 and the game runs on PCVR even without steam being turned on on the PC. Install this version normally and upload the VR files from https://fossbytes.com/resident-evil-village-vr-free-pc-mod/ to the main directory where you have the game installed. Remember to turn off antivirus during installation, especially the built-in windows. I run the game on win 10. Everything works.

Hy all. Oculus Quest 2 my headset. This game is very hard to run in VR mode. To do this, you have to run the SteamVR application and after that to open the game and hope it will going to run in VR mode. Well, this worked until some time ago.. I can't open it anymore in VR mode, i guess the steamVR app can't inject in the game engine for some reason.. I tried different settings in steamVR app but nothing works anymore. I did some research on the net and i found a new app called UEVR (unreal engine VR) that promise to open every single game that is using the Unreal Engine, i didn't tested yet but i hope this program will solve my problems with the VR games. I don't know what about other games engines like the ones used in Half-Life for example, but i'll going to test that to. I hope this message will help others too!

So I think I found out why a lot of people are having trouble starting this game and get the crash report from capcom. When u unzip the crack fix .rar it containts three files (steam_emu.ini, steam_api64.rne and steam_api64.dll) and the re8.exe that u need to copy into the game folder. The problem with this is that the steam_api64.dll file gets instantly deleted by windows defender as it says that it is known as HACKTOOL:WIN32. So u need to turn off windows defender for that file or else windows defender will delete that file and without that file u get the crash report from capcom. Hope this helps. Would be nice if u could give feedback if that works.

The game is working fine but there's an issue with the movement. Is strange that when i try to walk the character starts to walk backwards and i can't stop it. Dude your system does not even come close to the recommended system specs for RE8. You GPU is literally 200% slower than the recommended GPU and your CPU is 20% slower than recommended. Even with the bare minimum that only guarantees you 30fps. Don't post crap.
