To install the updates, in the rune menu you have to select the game file (The Last Of Us Part 1) ? For me it means that there are files missing, so the installation is cancelled :/ My antivirus is deactivated and I have downloaded the game and reinstalled.
Since many people have problems when installing, so before installing, you need to know that:
*** The "UPDATE ONLY" (eg v1.0.3.0, v1.0.4.0,...) only work if you have downloaded the original version (I mean the first version) from this site. For example, if you download from the xyz.com website, then install "update only" from this site, it won't work, of course. You should use updates from the website you downloaded, because no one can guarantee that an update will work for all websites in the world.
*** You need to know that, during the installation of the "update only", it will temporarily use the Temp folder of the C:\ drive (note, only temporarily). Therefore, if your C drive size is small (usually 80GB is enough). You can use the following, search on google "how to create symbolic link on windows". It's very easy, don't be afraid :D.
Then install as usual. Once installed, you can delete the symbolic link. Basically, "symbolic link" is like a "request" for windows to understand that "path \Temp should be pointing to path D:\temp,... or something". So if your C drive is running low on space, you can also use them for many purposes in the future.
I downloaded from "FitGirl-Repacks", in my version crack is built-in Goldberg/RUNE, so if I did not have a problem up to version 1.0.3.0, there should be no problems further on. It's a good thing I held off on downloading "update 1.4.0" because the file is large for the capabilities of my drive. On the other hand, they often release new patches. I think I'll wait some more and download when they patch it.

I'll try to upload an "update only" version in a few hours, my friend ;). Since it takes a long time to create installer. But to be honest, I don't recommend using "update only" for this version, because there are dozens of files that have been updated, it's very error prone when just 1 of the files doesn't match.
For those who experienced crash during startup / loading, consider upgrade your RAM to 16gb minimum or 24gb/32gb recommended. I personally experienced crash when using 8gb ram, now upgraded to 24gb, so far everything work just fine.

So, earlier this day i downloaded V1.1.1 update, after the setup verified the main game's files it attempted to install another copy of the main game along update even though i already have the main game taking up another huge storage, but when i cancelled it, it also deleted the main game files along all my saves seriously wtf!? If you play with the last patch, you will be lucky cause in 1080 higt graphics...I could play it even with a 2060 6gb but NOT with the first versions.
If the game says: "error... steam_api64.dll" or so, that means your AV erased that and OTHER files from the download folder, so take a look at that first.

the "crack" consists in a bunch of files in folder "RUNE". What crack does is to directly ubicate those files in your d:/game/last of us install dir, BUT.... you must CHECK that the sentence "copy rune files into the installdir...bla bla bla" is CHECKED, and the "v" is so small that I couldn't either see it, so I thought it was activated , but it wasn't.
So, if you didn't chedk that option, you just have to manually copy those fies in "rune" folder, I think, and you will see "steamapi" etc, to your main instalation dir of the game.
It looks like that maybe your antivirus has deleted one of the cracked files that would prefend the game from opening how it should. Sometimes antivirus will delete files, warning you about them and then deleting them, which I think I had similar issues when updating the game.
I'd consider reinstalling the game and making sure that your antivirus is letting those filed through. Otherwise they'll get deleted again.
Normally when it's a cracked Steam Game and as soon as you start the game it opens Steam, it's usually that the crack wasn't installed properly. Either you forgot to check the "Copy Crack into folder" box when installing the game or antivirus deleting crusial files that would make the game "cracked".

hello there, i think that ppl whose are having crashes. you guys can try this as i just tried it myself and no crashes after. solved: well aftter many crashes, i am playing game without updates. so i just resintall the game with the torrent file which i downloaded then i just play it. it has been few hours without crashes. i did not apply the patch 1.05 and 1.06… i don know when i will get bug or crash but it has been good for more than 2 hours now.

Then you should use the site to check the hash and compare it with the files here if you want, for example: https://www.srrdb.com/browse/category:pc/order:date-desc/1. If the hash matches, it means you have downloaded the correct file, and it is completely virus-free.

The game is 99% the same between versions. The only differences:
Japanese files in speech1 and tts1 folders
one line pkgconfig.txt -> "sku=row" vs. "sku=jp" (row being "rest of the world")

So get the files above, put them in your global game, use the included pkgconfig.txt or edit yours and that's it, you can set Japanese texts, subtitles and voices.

So I tried taking the Japanese files, naming them the same as the French files, setting "sku=row" and setting everything French. Works for voices, not for texts or subtitles. So with Japanese files renamed to something else, voices set to that something else and text + subtitles to English, you can have a mix of English (texts + subtitles) and Japanese (voices) and the game will be uncensored. Or I guess similarly any other language you have files for. (Which now you have all, with me uploading Japanese.) BTW I only tested this until the first censorship moment few minutes of gameplay in, so who knows how stable it is.
I presume full uncensor of the Japanese version, or the reverse, unlocking Japanese in ROW, if it is possible, would need someone with reverse engineering knowledge, and sadly that's not me.
Overall, by editing pkgconfig.txt I can switch between uncensored English, censored Japanese or make an uncensored hybrid, so it's almost perfect. But full uncensored Japanese would be cool.

re - download but this time turn off real time protection in windows defender(and anti-virus program if you use one) before extracting/installing. if downloading by torrent you can set it to ignore everything you already have downladed
Game installation folder should have an already cracked steam_api64.dll file, but if not, if it asks to go to steam, that is due to your antivirus. Disable it or EXCLUDE the folder from AV analisis. No other way.
If it doesn't work ... you will have to download the game again, and rewrite all files, now It will work (with av disabled).

I have already excluded the E:\ WHOLE directory, where I have the games to avoid this to happen but as far as it is a new hard drive, I forgot completely to do it yesterday, and yesterday WORKED, but..... not today.
if you can, do what I did. I created a virtual machine and used a drive that actually has enough storage, installed windows on the virtual machine, than created a shared folder between the virtual machine and the game path. than installed the update like normal. worked like a charm for me. i know its alot more work, but in the long run wasn't to bad.

steam_api64.dll couldnt be found? I tried to start over launcher and both exes. Launcher only opens a black box then closes again, and when i try to launch one of the exes dll thing is coming..
i already know the reason why the game is not working from your side. Perhaps the anti-virus blocked those files while they were being extracted. You just need to turn off the AV, then extract it again, and you can play

the update 1.0.4.0 extracts files to a temporary dir on my C drive and it runs out of disk space, why would you not be able to choose where it extracts the temp files?
You must install the base game on the D: drive and install the updates on it. Or you will run into problems. When installing updates, you must select the folder where the game is installed.

Yes, there's an enormous improvement of medium and low texture settings now. (I've never seen textures as bad as in the release version at medium or low. Even 20 year old games have better textures. It's like they ran the high-res textures through a quick and dirty conversion script and called it a day ...) Why am I even talking about medium textures, you may ask: Well, this game easily maxes out 8 GB VRAM at medium texture settings ... :(

Basically, the save file still works. But to be sure. You can copy/paste the current game's directory to somewhere, as a backup. Then install the update, try to play the game... If it doesn't work, you can delete it and reuse the old folder that was backed up earlier. I always do this with the games I play :D

Follow your file path. That is, you have previously installed the version from "InsaneRamZes". You should go to the InsaneRamZes website and get the updates from there, because each site/uploader uploads different ones, so it won't be able to update based on each other.
For example, site A's update can work with B, C, but can't work with D, E,... it's too complicated to create an update for "all" of the world's websites lol. Sometimes it works with other people, sometimes it doesn't, because in essence just 1 file with a different hash code, it will fail.
That's why I recommend users stick with an uploader/website in the future with the games they've downloaded.
Am getting this error. I have updated until 1.0.3.0 , and game runs as it is supposed to. But when I try to update, it tells me there not enough space. I have over 220GB free space. It is RUNE, torrented off kickass. Any advises?
When installing this update, it uses windows temp folder, default will be "C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Temp". Therefore, if the size is not enough, it will show that error message. But you can fix it easily, by search on google "how to create symbolic link on windows". It's very easy, don't be afraid :D.
Then install as usual. Once installed, you can delete the symbolic link. Basically, "symbolic link" is like a "request" for windows to understand that "path \Temp should be pointing to path D:\temp,... or something". So if your C drive is running low on space, you can also use them for many purposes in the future.

Because this update only works with version of RUNE. According to your picture, update failed because your version doesn't have "full language", so the files don't match => installation failed.
When installing the RUNE version, it will install all languages by default.

Not yet cause I am still on holiday but I think the problem solution is easy peasy... the ISSUE is that I can't hardly "check" the extremely small square where all the prompts go, so I guess I DIDN'T copy the content of runa into de installdir of the game (a friend of mine told me to do it, and thus, the "steamapi" file will go in its proper place). I tried and tried but no way of "check" any square, so i ASSUMED that they are uncheckable. I guess the limitations come from the fact that I use a 55" TV screen and the hack interface shows very small. I will try on sunday and I will comment.
Download and install went fine, but when I try copying the crack "steam_api64.dll" my antivirus keeps catching it, and I can't seem to whitelist it or anything. After reinstalling the second time, it does have steamapi, so I think it was just an install issue, the game opening steam after the crack is applied persists though

Perhaps your anti-virus ate it? If you have one of those set to strict virus detection and elimination, it's possible that it treated the crack as a false positive. Maybe check your quarantine?

Game works but really poor optimization, 45fps ish on mix of high 1440p settings with 1080 Ti rig.
Even with all low settings, the fps stays the same. Currently playing with vsync on and forced the game to a locked 30fps with motion blur set to 10.......

So, if you didn't chedk that option, you just have to manually copy those fies in "rune" folder, I think, and you will see "steamapi" etc, to your main instalation dir of the game.

Sometimes antivirus will delete files, warning you about them and then deleting them, which I think I had similar issues when updating the game.
I'd consider reinstalling the game and making sure that your antivirus is letting those filed through. Otherwise they'll get deleted again.
Normally when it's a cracked Steam Game and as soon as you start the game it opens Steam, it's usually that the crack wasn't installed properly. Either you forgot to check the "Copy Crack into folder" box when installing the game or antivirus deleting crusial files that would make the game "cracked".

So I tried taking the Japanese files, naming them the same as the French files, setting "sku=row" and setting everything French.

So with Japanese files renamed to something else, voices set to that something else and text + subtitles to English,
you can have a mix of English (texts + subtitles) and Japanese (voices) and the game will be uncensored.
Or I guess similarly any other language you have files for. (Which now you have all, with me uploading Japanese.)
BTW I only tested this until the first censorship moment few minutes of gameplay in, so who knows how stable it is.

Launcher only opens a black box then closes again,

Follow your file path. That is, you have previously installed the version from "InsaneRamZes". You should go to the InsaneRamZes website and get the updates from there, because each site/uploader uploads different ones, so it won't be able to update based on each other.
For example, site A's update can work with B, C, but can't work with D, E,... it's too complicated to create an update for "all" of the world's websites lol. Sometimes it works with other people, sometimes it doesn't, because in essence just 1 file with a different hash code, it will fail.
That's why I recommend users stick with an uploader/website in the future with the games they've downloaded.
But you can fix it easily, by search on google "how to create symbolic link on windows". It's very easy, don't be afraid :D.
Then install as usual. Once installed, you can delete the symbolic link. Basically, "symbolic link" is like a "request" for windows to understand that "path \Temp should be pointing to path D:\temp,... or something". So if your C drive is running low on space, you can also use them for many purposes in the future.

Does it every time. One difference is this time it did it right at the start of the install. Last time it got about 40% but it was the same message.
The update that I release relies on files from RUNE.
Because this update only works with version of RUNE. According to your picture, update failed because your version doesn't have "full language", so the files don't match => installation failed.
When installing the RUNE version, it will install all languages by default.

But if you just install this game, you can use crack file in v1.0.3.0 (or any previous version, because it's same).

I can't play cause if I click the play button after adding the game manually, the game start just crash in a the first second.
We need to prevent steam to OPEN but....how? I look in Google and there are just videos guiding you to remove steam from windows start but that's not the problem .

the ISSUE is that I can't hardly "check" the extremely small square where all the prompts go, so I guess I DIDN'T copy the content of runa into de installdir of the game (a friend of mine told me to do it, and thus, the "steamapi" file will go in its proper place). I tried and tried but no way of "check" any square, so i ASSUMED that they are uncheckable. I guess the limitations come from the fact that I use a 55" TV screen and the hack interface shows very small.
