According to Babble, Mandarin Chinese is the World's hardest language to learn of the top six (See here). Russian ranks as the fourth after Arabic (Second) and Polish (Third). I'm surprised that Japanese or German is not among the top six~! It's too bad that there are no English subtitles or English GUI. That severely limits the potential audience for this game.

Japanese or German, german is easy it just is. As Japanese, while moonrunes are hard to learn speech itself is very very easy, watch enough anime and you will notice how quickly you pick up certain words while if you do the same with Chinese,at best you will grow accustom to hearing it but chances are you will not learn even single word . List you provided is from native english speakers perspective so it may be different if your native is different.

That may be true. Hmm ... The only other person whom I've met that said learning foreign languages is not difficult was a fellow worker at one of my past jobs who was a PERL programmer that majored in Linguistics at his university (He had graduated with a Masters degree). He made the career transition from linguist to programmer as the job market for linguists was bad (For him, a programming language is just another kind of foreign language). He showed me usage examples of Regular Expressions that still amaze me to this day!
