my bonelab just gets stuck on "Active XR Loader Open XR Loader'' and freezes my pc after launching for the second time. can anyone help me with this issue? (i already have set steamvr as openxr runtime and still doesn't work)
So just so you know this game isnt as optimized as Boneworks and is pretty rough around the edges. If you liked boneworks you will like this game, however do not expect HLA levels of polish and detail... here's a review that sums up the state of the game: Index user, Coming from boneworks I had high hopes that this was the game to beat all other games "set a new standard". After 2 hours of trying to play and finding where the main quest is (jezus...), I have a few positives and cons.
Pos
being able to switch from frame to frame is implemented good, good innovation. Wolf hunter from hoverjunkers is amazing.
Prologue was quite good aswell, very pleasant experience.
Cons
Floor not correctly aligned.
Index controller is a mess atm, as heard on different discords, the grab button fails, cocking a weapon gets your hand stuck, and for some reason you can go into bullet time for well, eternally, because of a bad registration of presses with the index.
The game is not as optimised as boneworks, and looks overall foggy, litterally every room has fog in it, making it look grey, dull and bland. Boneworks was WAY more stunning visually. There is also no slider in the menu to try to make the game look a bit darker and less grey.
This is my most hated point, why in the world, do the devs decide to HIDE THE MAIN GAME, behind minigames. For the love of god, this is not a good idea at all, and the person that decided that it WAS a good idea, you basically have the entire comunity on steam raging about the fact that they cant find the main story. Some people even asked if there really was a main story in the game, so this for me is about the worst decision that could be made.
However, this is the state of the launch, and as we have learned lately games at launch are not "finished", let alone polished. And this game will need lots of it. For index users especially, dont expect the experience you had in boneworks just yet, somehow the controls are a big mess.
For people thinking about buying the game I would advice to wait a couple of weeks/months. My hype was big and my love for boneworks is even bigger, and to feel kinda bummed by this one is not a good feeling. The only thing I can think of now is the game is a mess, but I want to play it anyway. I'm gonna have a rough time because of the wonky controls and the weird dreadfull mist in every room, but I'll manage.
This review will be rewritten when patches come out and the game is as polished and optimised as boneworks is. And for crying out loud, when the index controller is fixed.

That's how a lot of developers abusing "digital release" nowadays, they often release a buggy, rushed mess on the launch day without any actual plan to fix it, just so they can make some quick money, as if they're trying to make people hate their games...
Game starts, Main Menu loading Screen, and after that into an Infinite black screen. Waited for 10 Minutes Straight, nothing happened. Also, added the Game to Steam, but still the same. Starting as Admin as well doesn't work either. Any ideas guys?
i tried to launch the game and it kept crashing and black screening basically the fix is launch until it works (and some load times if you dont have an ssd take up to an hour)

THANK YOU SO MUCH. this is the best cracked website in my opinion cause the steamunlocked website is ass cause the games doesn't have the exact same files as the original. you had to download requirements and you couldn't download mods cause the files are weird. tysm best website ever
Just install them manually into the mods folder through the Appdata LocalLow folder, It's worked perfectly fine for me. Hell, it works with both mod.io (as long as you download and unzip the zip) and mods you make yourself
I just Played this for the last hour works perfect on my Acer WMR Headset , through steamvr , i just googled and i found someone showing me to change steam vr setting from windows mixed reality to steam vr in steamvr developer settings , and i also had to change revive setting to use openxr as well ,then it loaded and controls worked perfect as well , very happy, super cool experience thanks so much for the download 8-)
This looks great, but Boneworks was the one VR game that I could not play without getting sick. Never made it past that little obstacle course puzzle right in the start where you have to move the walls and get to the higher level.
You have to get use to the incongruency of fast pace movement centric VR. It takes a couple weeks of playing for 30-90 5 days a week before you can fully cure it. I had the same issue and followed a desensitization guide online and now i only get sick if i go more than 4 or so months without playing VR
That's because the other VR games you're fine with, aren't like Boneworks. Sairento? Jet Island? I bet those will make you feel the same way. Listen to the man's advice instead of defaulting to "court of public opinion".
Obviously you're feeling sick for SOME reason... obviously the other games aren't the same. The reason is not the same. If you want to fix it, then listen to him, instead of coming up with some excuse as to how he's wrong (when he's not).
He dude open Virtual Destop on ur pc start it on ur Quest 2 too now run steam vr and start the game and if get u this error now go in ur quest 2 to and start steam vr frome Virtual destop app it works !! Happy gaming all
