This is just like the steam version, will crash after the first cutscene. Steam version has a fix (by deleting specific files), but this one does not have such files, so we're stuck until they fix it.
EDIT: YOU CAN FIX THIS! I fixed mine! You do need to remove LAV or Codec or something. I suggest you "TRY" to install this: https://files3.codecguide.com/K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1710_Basic.exe It will tell you whether you have those programs or not, and choose to uninstall. I chose to uninstall LAV (and obviously did NOT install the link I gave). Managed to pass the 1st cutscene.
No need to remove any codec, all you need is this: simply open the tweak tool for klite(C:\Program Files (x86)\K-Lite Codec Pack\Tools\CodecTweakTool.exe) and change 1 setting Under Codec and Filter Management, goto "Preferred Splitters", then change the 64bit .MP4 to "Use Merit". apply and close. play.
So. the games TUTORIAL. is about..maybe an hour long or two if..your reading the text. other than that, its about maybe 40mins or 30mins of tutorial before you can actually do things, aka Part 2 or Chapter 2.
...dont see whats the difference in VN when half the time in cyber sleuth your either investigating areas that youve been before, checking out areas, finding missing digimon/clues and reading whats going on in the cybernet. this game does just that just a bit more text and without having to ACTUALLY move to the spot yourself and find where the next advancing point is. and instead of turn base, its tactical RPG.
You don't see the difference between just reading text and actually moving around areas, actually talking to people and engaging in random battles? Heck, it's in the name, VISUAL novel. You only look at it, outside of battles you barely interact with the game at all. Besides, I'm burn out on VN style games
