Instead of a black screen, it should've been a pre-rendered anime cutscene. Something is missing or preventing the cutscene to be played (maybe video codec, I'm not sure)
Either play it on Win10 or wait for patch for Win7 users to make the cutscene skippable
You can change your character portrait after finish the story. So it's more like you play it as male MC, marry a girl, then change your portrait to female MC.
Don't listen to them. They're doing waaay too many unnecessary steps. All you gotta do is add 1580240 = "Rune Factory 4 Special" to the bottom of both tenoke.ini files. You don't even need to have Rune Factory 4 Special installed for this to work. Editing those files is all you need to do. When you start the game it should mention having rune factory 4 characters being added as a dlc. If it didn't mention it you somehow did it wrong
i just wanna help people that want to get the bonus from rf4s special with this version.
u can download rf4s (only 2gb) and save the game after tutorial. after u have rf4s save data, edit tenoke.ini (game configuration) in Rune Factory 5_Data\Plugins\x86_64. u need to edit appid = 0x1234 to 1702330 then rename tenoke.ini to SteamConfig.ini (u dont have to edit tenoke.ini in exe folder). the game will run in high mode setting so it hurts for low end pc but u just need to complete tutorial. after u ve saved ur game u can replace the game config with first ones. before u continue probs u wanna delete dlc files so u wont get any treasure boxes at the silo since it makes the game easy and not fun.
for controller R and L not working u can download antimicrox, assign L to SPACE for seal speal, and R2 to left shift for party attack.

I want to ask if it's possible to play the game with the Launcher only? Because everytimes I downloaded the game and it was running perfectly, but after I quit the game, the RF5 application just gone and only the Launcher remains. Can someone tell me what should I do?

I'm having the same problem, game isn't playing any cutscenes. Screen simply stays black and I can't proceed after sleeping in bed the first night. The general game intro doesn't display either, I can somehow click through that one, but the one after he wakes up bricks the game for me.

For some reason I can't set the game's resolutin any higher than 1920 x 1080, when I've seen that the game in steam can go up to 3840 x 2160 with the same launcher. Is there a way to fix this?
