At first I was like, this sounds kinda dumb, but then I saw it's from 1999 and I'm totally interested now. Back then developers put their heart and soul into their games
That's fuckin' dumb to think the game will be dumb just because of the year. Indie dev still put their heart into games, they just have less money to makes perfect things. And sure there is a lot of failure, but based your judgement of "looks like" just because of the year is the most stupid shit I ever read.
Free time is important Dafty, some people just can't afford to try every game they want like you can. Sometimes we have to go off of a hunch to decide if that game will be worth your time or not. You may end up missing out on something great, but so be it, time is money and whatever the game is better entice me easily for me to invest time into it.
I've watched a video about the story of this game and how it came to be. Back in 99 the original creator didn't get much attention and his game sold only 3k copies, but westerners were hyped to bring the game back and began searching all over for it. And now here it is, remastered and translated, 20 years later it's getting the attention it didn't back then. I personally think its quality doesn't fall short of ANY modern games.

Seriously tho' the game looks cool, kinda more like a machinarium with more horror , I've played games like this ( Sanitarium and an other one where you are trap into your own nightmare) Might be actually good.
