You can stay below 2hrs and refund within 2 weeks of purchase. So, if you do want to be of help with fixing launch issues, supporting is the best way to do so, alternatively buying, testing, reporting and refunding is the way to go.
With htc cosmos I can't make the controls work well and try to change the configuration with other controls and it's impossible to have any idea. It happens to me with the mod of firewatch mod 1.1.1 that I can't even move my hands. Any suggestion!
The game does state Vive support, it just launched so you can buy the game, test it and make a bug report, then refund the game within 2 hrs of play and 2 weeks of purchase.
You might be able to mess with Revive and try to run the game like its an Oculus device. But I've never tried such a thing, not sure if its even possible as you'd be going from SteamVR > Oculus > SteamVR. Maybe you can do it somehow but I wouldn't know.
