Only smug Bourgeoise nerds would have owned an IBM XT (over $7000) in 1983 given its cost and enjoyed its fabulous four color CGA graphics and massive 10 megabyte hard drive. You could have bought a Chevrolet Caprice for that kind of money and actually had a life.
