This is just so offensive as it implies that a lack of success is somehow undesirable. In a society of true equality, everyone remains on the bottom rung.
You're missing context. I've played the game for a bit and can tell you that the creator began basically badmouthing other games, including this one by a college girl where you take care of plants. He said it wasn't really a game at all and he could do better. But when he put out his first game, Fairy House - it didn't do well. So he put out a bunch of other games, but never really seemed to achieve success. That bring said, you wind up in a game he scrapped four years ago - an RPG that he only had a basic outline for. And he met this girl who enjoyed his work IRL, so he wants to escape this game world so he can go see her again. But yes, this guy wants to be successful. That's his personal goal and if you played the game, you would understand how stubborn and arrogant he is about it. He doesn't have a job either, he's a neet.
