Warning this installer in the iso file can't run any OS if below win8... Because it's using Python 3.9 which is Python 3.9 does NOT support Win7... Game itself however can run on win 7 without any problem, but the damn installer is different story, when you try to run installer in win 7 64bit gives you "api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll" missing error, nice fucking job crackers! Instead of using installer this game should be released as "pre-installed" just extract and run... But no they had to make their own shinny installer.... Anyway thanks for the upload igg I know this not your issue, but had to write this comment to warn others...
Because the game is based on Neoliberal theory. It is inherently flawed - and not even based on practice, just the theory, so even their own positions are idealized.
Basically Neoliberals see any different form of government as impossible and do not distinguish between anti-market and pro-market governments - i.e.: African warlords and Cuba are the same thing to them, nuances be damned. Not only that, but because their own positions are idealized, Western governments are basically near-perfect in game. Again, any flaws they might have are ignored. And everyone is inherently Neoliberal, no matter the real life positions of a population.
Play the game yourself if you do not believe me. North Korea is not depicted as a planned economy, it is depicted as a dictatorship with a market economy. It even has the same kinds of taxes and economical issues as any other country in game.
Same for China (which yes, is a market economy but the ideological particulars of it are not simulated). Same for Cuba. Same for the African/Middle East splinter states and warlords...
The ideological reason for this is that Neoliberalism sees everything as a market - whether the supposedly 'Free Western Markets' or the 'Monopolistic Markets' of non-Western economies, so that is what the game simulates. The idea that there could be something beyond that is impossible to them, so it is not simulated.
I mean for the sake of... Having too little unemployment gives you inflation. That is a Neoliberal ideological standpoint right there, and again even North Korea has to abide by this logic in game.
I am not an expert in economy and i can't currently play it but maybe that is just the limitation of game design and even north korea who claim to be the only taxes-free country in the world still taxes their peoples by other means, plus what do outsider really know about how their government works? I believe currently there is not a single planned market economy country in the world, most of them are merely mixed market tending more toward socialism as are the majority of western nations with marxist leninist states having in addition a more authoritarian government and more state run enterprise to varying degree. I also think the inverse relation between unemployment rate and inflation is accurate but i will watch some playthrought to see if it's really the same everywhere but even if it is i think most player prefer the political aspect of it which is represented well enough.
My point here is that every model has flaws and imperfections, but the Neoliberal one is particularly flawed in that it simply does not recognize that other forms of running things exist. At all. Whether these are good or bad is irrelevant to me - they existed, but the game does them no justice, and I can understand this is due to the model used - but then again, that was my original point. In a game these imperfections are particularly jarring because freedom of play would allow people to experiment and have more fun. Realistic contrast between models would offer new perspectives and ideas.
To counterexample, yes, North Korea certainly has taxes like any other country, but these are not 1:1 the ones found in Western countries. Same for the African states (recognized or not), or the Mexican drug cartels, or pretty much anyone falling out of the 'standard model'. Running them as the average Western state betrays as complete disregard for them and the ability of the player to choose.
Finally, I am not going to debate that here as I had my fair share of discussions and in my experience people agreeing with Neoliberals never change their minds, so you will have to excuse me if I honestly think we will have to disagree.
All I will add however that the Neoliberal model has been already shown to have substantial flaws. Most hyperinflation happens during periods of high unemployment, for example, like The Great Recession or Zimbabwe's land reform that destroyed the economy. Again my suggestion if you do not believe is to look at these historical yourself, do not let others do it for you.
All right, fair enough i don't see where you got that i agree with neoliberalism tough; i was just not convinced that the game is based on it. For what it's worth i believe that unrestrained capitalism just might be about the worst form of political system there is, at least the end goal of socialism is communism but with neoliberalism the whole world will look like india under the east india company. As for the last part yes hyperinflation does occur during periods of high unemployment(or cause it in the first place) but that is not the same thing as inflation.
Alright, I apologize for my assumption. I had assumed you were one of them because for some astounding reason I kept running into these characters for the past ten or so days (and none of these were in places you would expect them to be). They are even more fanatical and obnoxious than the media portrays them to be.
In fact I would say pretty much the entirety of Africa with exception already looks like that, same for most of Latin America and Asia.
Agreed on hyperinflation vs. inflation, my point was that a lot of Neoliberal narratives are garbage.
North korea has an internal market as of recent years, Silently the nation has been reforming in practical ways, in fact copying some of the perestroika measures of the 80s in the USSR such as allowing farmers to keep and sell a portion of their own product beyond what is required to be produced through quotas, and the "means of production" or companies are shifting closer to the chinese model of being largely meritocratic with lots of state oversight and inbuilt political loyalty officers.
I already had this discussion below - I have little else to do add, other than the specifics of this model (however close to the Chinese model) are again not simulated.
Sadly yes. The Game >can< still be quite fun though, if you can move past them Bugs. And the basically non-existant AI. It can feel quite slow at times though. I'd love to see a new Superpower, to be honest. I remember Superpower 2 in particular very fondly, and SP2 is classes above P&R. Supposedly there should be SP3 coming out soon...ish? It does have a Steam Site, so we can only hope. Would be about time to get a nice Geo-Sim with some proper graphics and some meat.
Normalement quand tu l'as sur Steam, il doit te télécharger la langue si tu décide de la changer, sa veut dire qu'avec le crack il faudrait avoir un language pack ou alors sur internet, je suis actuellement en train d'en chercher un.
Wait... crystal ball gazing ...... crystal ball gazing ...... crystal ball gazing ..... I can't see shit. Maybe stop playing games when you can't even start one and learn how to describe a problem a wee bit more precisely for others who can't possibly know squat about what the feck you were doing? That would be a start.
BS! Just because two things occur at the same time doesn't mean they are related to each other! You should learn to distinguish between correlation and causality. If you don't know what that is, stop playing or even pirating video games and educate yourself! This error has nothing whatsoever to do with you playing the game as a "terrorist" but with your crappy PC and/or its operating system ... Gosh!
-I don't have any text which appear in the game.
-how to patch the game in different languages (french for me) ?
-is codex xvid really necessary ? Because I don't have it and it's difficult to find on internet (i think).
EDIT : codex xvid is on xvid .com (not .org). After the installation, all the text appear in the game. No information about another language.
