Specifically, since I use xdelta, it uses the default windows temporary directory (usually the C:\ drive) to create temporary files before applying them to the game directory. That's why if the C:\ drive doesn't have enough space, the file will get a corrupt message.

It's false positive. The method used to crack games is similar to the method used to code m-a-l-w-a-r-e! Anti-virus programs will detect the crack as a virus and delete it, even though it isn’t! :)

hi, I think i've done everything alright but when I try to open the game from the desktop shortcut or from the folder where I downloaded it, i have a blank page with (I think?) the cursor of the game, and a few seconds after the page close itself and nothing else happens any idea why ?
update, I tried opening the game using the start_protected_game thing, i had to install easy anti cheat and now it nearly works but when the game is initializing i get those two error messages

Try following the instructions from this post. MO2 will always look for the default STEAM folder structure and if it can't find it, it won't find your .exe

No, you dont need v1.12.2, bro (because v1.12.3 included that version)... In installer, you need point path to "parent folder of Game folder" (because that's root path of this game)
If you used a previous version of RUNE (downloaded from this site), your save files will definitely continue. On the contrary, if you downloaded it from somewhere else, it depends on where you downloaded it, they used different cracks => where the save file is located will also be different. You need to manually copy the save file to a new location.
BTW, I forgot to say, since you didn't give detailed information, I didn't know which version you were using before? Hello I am using v1.12.2 before and i played it and after i applied the patch of v1.12.3 the game reset itself. and yes this is where I've downloaded the previous version.

It means you ran out of RAM. Try closing all running programs, right click and close most of the stuff next to your clock. Unless otherwise needed. Start the install after a fresh restart.
I tried patching the game to the newest version. The patch failed and now the game won't start anymore.

It's a patch.exe. I believe it failed because of insufficient space on my drive which ended up bricking the game files. Reinstalling from fresh and applying the patch with enough free space worked!

Being cracked doesn't matter, the mods should still work. Make sure MO2 is updated and the mod is updated too and make sure to follow ALL of the instructions
yes, you just need to copy your save file to the crack version save file storage. Please scroll down a bit (or more than 7 days ago), many people have detailed instructions on issues related to saving as well as where to store these files.
Usually that error occurs due to one of the following reasons:
Do you have enough hard drive size?
Do you have AV on? Maybe it blocked the crack files during the installation process.
Are you installing to a long path? Windows limits the number of characters in paths, you can see information in google search. Or are you installing the game to a path with special characters? Try change to C:\game.

When I launch the game, my screen does not freeze and when I quit and re-enter it, my save is not corrupted and I can continue playing without any issues. Something seems to be right with the game data. Please don't help me. 🙂

but did you leave antivirus software turned off, or have where you installed the game excluded from the antivirus software scanning? (add exclusion to the folder)

there is no "seperate" DLC for this install. you need ALL parts to make this version work. excluding the minor update fix otherwise, you wont be able to play. so, download all parts. that is the base game, and the DLC included together. forget online-fix as it wont work, unless it too has been updated and is the correct version.
hey guys. the game works perfectly for me and I am up to date with the dlc and everything except that when i eventually killed mogwhyn to start the dlc the npc I am supposed to interact with is dead on the floor and i get the roundtable symbol at that place anyone who knows what to do?
Just copy everything in the "update" folder and paste it into your game folder, and you're done. BTW, this is just a small update, the developer only updated 2 files :D.
when you setup DS4W make sure your actually getting output using this then as suggested switch it to xbox 360 output. or you can setup a profile for KEYBINDS manually. you should also install the drivers for it etc. otherwise it will not work!

I think, it's always in the first or in the last part (last part makes more sense imo). So, either download part 14 or just the update (1.12.2), which contains that folder also.

my folder number is 76561197960271872 so yours maybe something else. you should go to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing there should be one folder with numbers, inside that probably is your save file.

Hey guys i need help from someone >_<. So first off i have downloaded the game installed it and cracked it. Now when i run the game and reach the part where i have to create a name and customize my character it just freezes an crashes a few seconds later(ive run it mutiple times already and get the same issue). I am running minimum system requirements and I fear that may be the issue here and that its not strong enough to run the game but im hoping thats not the case. if anyone here might know a solution i am all ears. thanks :)
1.) You could see if your graphics driver needs updating & update them.
2.) If they are up to date smash them with DDU & reinstall them.
3.) If it's still a no go try a clean boot.
4.) Check if you have all needed prerequisites VB, DirectX and so, they normally get installed by the scene setup program.
5.) If you downloaded via torrent do a force recheck, sometimes data gets corrupted during transit, pretty sure the setup CRC checks the files during install but you never know.
6.) Check that pesky Defenders Protection & Quarantine History, just in case it's decided that it knows best.
7.) Try making a new windows user profile.
8.) Run chkdsk on the volume you've installed the game too & for good measure run these 2 commands in an Admin CMD/Terminal prompt, if DISM reports the image is corrupt run the second DISM cmd.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
SFC /scannow
If first cmd report's errors run it. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

You have to remember that because Elden Ring is more accessible, it brought in a lot of new players who never played a single Souls game before and don't know that it's standard for the DLC to be way harder than the base game. These people also refuse to adapt, change builds or engage with the new mechanics and thus they take to steam to review bomb the DLC
I mean... FromSoft games are supposed to be hard... right? Not to mention a large DLC like this is supposed to be played with beefy characters/equipment, just like any other games that has similar DLC.
Unless Miyazaki REALLY went overboard with this one.
The main bosses are nowhere near close to being like Maleina. Not a single one of them sucks your health with every attack for starters nor do they have spastic attacks like hers. Malenia is STILL the hardest boss in the whole game, DLC included
steam shouldn't have anything to do with this game running. did you copy the crack over? checked the box like the pinned comment states? you should also have antivirus turned off and have an exclusion added for where IGG downloads go or cracks you trust in general in your antivirus software so it doesnt remove the crack files after the install either!
can't access the DLC for some reason beat mohg and radahn already but no NPC or prompt at the egg i also don't see the Shadow of the Erdtree words on my bottom right of title screen will try to reinstall it now but any suggestions would help
thank you for the advise, it didnt quite work with the save manager, but it did with the elden ring character manager very quickly and easily. i just installed the game in another directory, transferred my character and deleted the old game.
considering my first version was razor how can I do it? Im having trouble locating my save file as I dont see the numbers that people say are the character safe
no reuploads will happen while 1 file hoster is still active. use megaup always. its almost always the fastest anyhow. use a download manager in the future if your not already as thatll help with bad files. do not stop, or pause downloads as that can create corrupted file issues.

ive not really any clue about real debrid. but, jdownloader should have the option to add the ability to catch links from megaup. or certain types of files IDM is what i use, *you can pay, or get a cracked copy from a trusted place. XDM is another which is free although, im not sure its still being maintained but source forge is its location.

Hey guys, new to this whole scene, but I'm working it out slowly. I downloaded the game via a torrent that linked me here and I'm getting this error. Here's what I've done so far
So I've attempted install, it failed to verify game files with steam so i assume it didnt crack so I checked the "copy contents of RUNE to installdir" hoping that would fix the problem as per a tip i found. The first time, the installer just disappeared but nothing was installed, and this time I get the above error.
There is no antivirus currently running on my machine purposely as it's disabled for this
This seems to be an error with processers with large Multi Cores
I found a fix online that users have said works, Try: Open Msconfig --> boot --> Advanced Options --> Set cores to 6 - 8
Install again
Dont forget to reset it after your done installing.
Some have also said it could be a over heating issue on the cores. If that is the case try:
Set Power Plan in Windows to "Balanced"
Edit Power Plan --> Advanced Power Plan Options --> Processor Power Management --> maximum processor state at "99%
It seems the reason for Unarc error codes to pop up or BSOD when installing was because the way these massive 50-100gb files have to be decompressed causing the processor to overheat and therefore causing windows to throttle with error codes.
seems you may have a bad or missing file. did you turn off antivirus software when downloading, as well as during installation? perhaps checking storage space would help too as this is in relation to both those things.
do any good, or was it a waste of time? if you had antivirus software on when downloading, thats another issue on its own. use WINRAR as i said so you can find out if a file is missing and which part its missing from. otherwise chasing your tail is what this will be.
I downloaded and installed the game thro torrent, the game cannot start. then I copied the steam files (steam cdx, dll, and ini) in old version folder to the new game folder, then I can play my old saves no problem. But I cannot play DLC: there is just no interaction show up at Miquella’s cocoon and there is no NPC there. I have defeated both bosses required to play DLC.
you may wish to try downloading via PARTS above, as ive seen so many complaints about the torrent for this game. i cant say its bad, as not everyone has an issue.
but, you may very well play by using parts. ofc no antivirus, and hit copy crack when installing.
DS4W please, read other comments about this. many stated "ds4w" was tried and wouldnt work. but, they just failed to install it properly. it works just fine. once installed, you should check gamepad tester to see if its actually working or not.
extract using WINRAR so your aware of what parts bad. 7zip nor windows native extraction software will tell you which parts bad.
i see torrent being suggested, but there are more of these screenshots from those who torrented this than using parts. if you still have the parts downloaded, use winrar.
i would share the cracked copy i use since igg has a cracked copy of winrar on site but those links are all dead.
I had the same issue and i have tried to re-download the whole file, it's time-consuming but it works for me. Just remember to not interupt the process if you are using torrent to download lik me.
If you're looking to swap save Between Lower to Higher Version or Same to Same version (Pirate to Legit) you can use this tool, just make sure you backup your Genuine save yourself
PLEASE for the sake of your own sanity in understanding what the REAL issue is, use WINRAR! not windows native unpacker b.s. bc itll not show what part is bad etc.
winrar (if this is the issue) would show what part failed to download fully, and you just redownload that part. winrar (older version) can be obtained from here. or it used to unsure if its still live or not after all this time. it is the version i have. but i got it along time ago.

yes, but i wouldnt. as foxx said in simpler wording. Its a pain in the ass. you would need to download the entire game from here, then find ONLY the update files, and pull those. then use another software that can get your account banned to trick steam into thinking you own the DLC.
be easier just to use the entire game from here. after spending all that time downloading and using data "just for update files".
but its also not a promise that it would work out if you did grab just the update files trying to make it work with steams live version.

Temporarily turn off your AV, I think it may have blocked that file.
Install in a different path, without spaces or special characters.
If you still get the error, try installing the latest version of NET Framework as well as C++ Visual C++ Redistributable for windows (you can download it directly from the microsoft page)

Go to your "Shadows of the Erdtree/Game" folder Open "steam_emu.ini" and find #AccountId=0 Remove the # and replace 0 with 1638, save and exit Launch the game.
If it still doesn't work look at my inital comment further down for a more detailed method. But my educated guess is that 1638 should work for most people.

but I don't really understand what you mean since you didn't provide any additional information. That update only works if you have downloaded the previous release from me.
Is this your first time using pirate? It's okay, everyone has their first time, even me more than 10 years ago. I will be happy to guide you. You see the name of this release "Only Up-SKIDROW", it's not mine, I just re-uploaded it from SCENE, in this case the SKIDROW team (you don't need to search their website, since it's not public on the internet, websites you find are known to fake and use the names of groups at SCENE).
What is Scene? you should search the wiki and google about this, they will explain it better than me. In general, the scene is decades old, certainly older than you (and me). It is completely safe. All the pirates you download from the internet, including movies, games, software,... are mostly leaked from the Scene.
When you download a game (or anything that comes from Scene) from sites like IGG, you can easily check the legitimacy of the file you downloaded. By using database sites taken from the scene, for example https://www.srrdb.com/browse/category:pc/order:date-desc/1,... You use tools like 7z, to check the file's HASH code, and match it with information from those web pages. If the hashes match, you are completely safe, and vice versa.

issues with save data, and pulling saves from
the base game to the newest update for RUNE
edition since prior versions will no longer
work without a few steps involved.
since it was 3 weeks back, i did it for you.
dont just try the first suggestion,

turned off, or have where you installed
the game excluded from the antivirus
software scanning? (add exclusion to the folder)
you may also check that you have installed all
driver updates etc. c++, vc red, etc.
install. you need ALL parts to make this
version work. excluding the minor update fix
otherwise, you wont be able to play.
so, download all parts. that is the base game,
and the DLC included together. forget online-fix
as it wont work, unless it too has been updated and
is the correct version.

- Go to AppData\Roaming\EldenRing[random numbers] folder.
- Copy the two files which are in this folder to your desktop.
- Install shadow of the erdtree from above fresh.
- Start the game, if it loads good, if it doesn't and gives error that it can't load save then quit the game.
- Go to AppData\Roaming\EldenRing folder and delete the [random numbers] folder (you made backup of the two files inside in step 2 on your desktop)
- Now boot the game again and start a new game. Do the beginning portion and reach Varre / Limgrave.
- Save on the first step site of grace.
- Quit the game.
- Download EldenRingSaveCopier from Github (google it)
- Launch the program.
- In source, select the backup you made on your desktop in step 2.
- In destination, choose the new save file you just made using Limbrave First Step site of Grace in AppData\Roaming\EldenRing[random numbers]

I recommend making 2 save file of the version 1.09 and put one someplace different so if tutorial one get corrupted you will still have that.
you should go to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing there should be one folder with numbers, inside that probably is your save file.
if you still cant find it try searching inside local and locallow.
another possible location might be documents, mine assassin creed save file are there.
did you download some where different when you are previously playing because some site save folder is inside their name folder.
here someone made instruction
- Go to AppData\Roaming\EldenRing[random numbers] folder.

2.) If they are up to date smash them with DDU & reinstall them.
3.) If it's still a no go try a clean boot.
4.) Check if you have all needed prerequisites VB, DirectX and so, they normally get installed by the scene setup program.
5.) If you downloaded via torrent do a force recheck, sometimes data gets corrupted during transit, pretty sure the setup CRC checks the files during install but you never know.
6.) Check that pesky Defenders Protection & Quarantine History, just in case it's decided that it knows best.
7.) Try making a new windows user profile.
8.) Run chkdsk on the volume you've installed the game too & for good measure run these 2 commands in an Admin CMD/Terminal prompt, if DISM reports the image is corrupt run the second DISM cmd.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
SFC /scannow
If first cmd report's errors run it.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

game is more exploration base rather then completion the area basically like tree sentinel boss from the start of the game.
melenia is hardest boss as she should be, she is the undefeated after all.

you should also have antivirus turned off
and have an exclusion added for where
IGG downloads go or cracks you trust
in general in your antivirus software
so it doesnt remove the crack files
after the install either!

So I've attempted install, it failed to verify game files with steam so i assume it didnt crack so I checked the "copy contents of RUNE to installdir" hoping that would fix the problem as per a tip i found. The first time, the installer just disappeared but nothing was installed, and this time I get the above error.
There is no antivirus currently running on my machine purposely as it's disabled for this
I found a fix online that users have said works, Try:
Open Msconfig --> boot --> Advanced Options --> Set cores to 6 - 8
Install again
Dont forget to reset it after your done installing.
Some have also said it could be a over heating issue on the cores. If that is the case try:
Set Power Plan in Windows to "Balanced"
Edit Power Plan --> Advanced Power Plan Options --> Processor Power Management --> maximum processor state at "99%
It seems the reason for Unarc error codes to pop up or BSOD when installing was because the way these massive 50-100gb files have to be decompressed causing the processor to overheat and therefore causing windows to throttle with error codes.

I downloaded and installed the game thro torrent, the game cannot start. then I copied the steam files (steam cdx, dll, and ini) in old version folder to the new game folder, then I can play my old saves no problem. But I cannot play DLC: there is just no interaction show up at Miquella’s cocoon and there is no NPC there. I have defeated both bosses required to play DLC.

install it properly. it works just fine.

what part failed to download fully,

you would need to download the entire
game from here, then find ONLY the update
files, and pull those. then use another software
that can get your account banned to trick
steam into thinking you own the DLC.
be easier just to use the entire game from here.
after spending all that time downloading and using
data "just for update files".
but its also not a promise that it would work out
if you did grab just the update files trying to make
it work with steams live version.

Open "steam_emu.ini" and find #AccountId=0
Remove the # and replace 0 with 1638, save and exit
Launch the game.
If it still doesn't work look at my inital comment further down for a more detailed method.
But my educated guess is that 1638 should work for most people.
