"fusing a time-pressure RPG with a politically charged"
"Three compelling stories, written by a team of diverse authors"

Saw this, saw the protags and knew it was a yikes from me.

Well its more of "When the elephants fight, the grass gets trampled." This African proverb means when powerful forces go to war, it's their people who are hurt the most.

It could also be extended to mean "whatever the ideology, political affiliation, movement, religion etc, the little guy is always overlooked."

like "capitalism" and "communism", the mainstream left-right political ideologies are two prongs on the same fork, what sane man can bear their followers any more?

Do you hate getting accused of being "Woke" by pro gamers?

Do you hate capitalism, while voting for capitalist politicians and subscribing to a capitalist ideology?

Do you like Papers, Please?

If yes, then congrats, this game is for you, enjoy and support the devs if you can. Ama stick to Papers, Please?, speaks way more for the situation in my country. Glory to Serbistan!

I've seen the comments around here, and judging by the game itself, and not its description, to me it feels kind of like a parody of a lot of political things nowadays, both on the right and on the left.
The very obvious one would be The Martirs themselves, who are comedically "The evil right wing extremists", the best example of this probably being (as far as I played this far) entering into martyr territory with the third character, where you have to answer a short quiz.
Another example would be when Malik(the black character) is stopped by the cop and has to, as his parents taught him, tell the cop that he is reaching for his phone so he dosen't get shot for "pulling out a gun" , which for me is just plain parody.
We are also shown that the president of the "Aliance" isn't seen in that good of a light either, as she is being criticised for being too inclusive, as the martyrs are taking advantage of that.
Plus, we can see ourselves how her extreme inclusivity isn't helping, as one state has been taken over by nerds and another (Kansas, I think) has become the place of a cult
One thing I actually kinda like about the story so far is that Eduardo (the guy kidnapped at the start) wasn't actually taken for being "an imigrant", that being just a plot for the Martyrs, which I won't spoil.
I have been mostly playing the game cause I like the improvements and innovation brought to the gameplay compared to the first, plus I want to see what crazy bs comes next.
So far having to check the id's of chicken has been my personal favorite.
That and stealing the declaration of independence.
