What? You don't have 8gb ram in 2021? How do you even run your system anymore...

I have, but it doesn't justify the size of the ram to these graphics, others only need less than that and can achieve far better aesthetic by baking the scene than real time lightings.

The game is made in the Unreal Engine which use more ram compared to Unity games for example. Looking at the trailer and gameplay its easy to see how it would require more than 4gb of ram, hence the 6gb minimum requirement. However a minimum doesn't guarantee a smooth experience so recommended will always be a bump higher, plus it enables higher graphics.

As for baked lightmaps, they are more performant than real-time lighting however the resolution is quite a bit lower as you're storing a whole lightmap and shadowmap instead of dynamically calculating nearby lighting. (shadow distance)

Most engines blend both low resolution baked lightmaps and high resolution realtime lighting not only to achieve a greather shadow distance but also to increase the quality of lighting in general. In unity for example you have a shadowmap a lightmap and a GImap. While in realtime GI is not an option. (Except for SSGI, which Unreal uses)

It is clear that the game goes for the industy standard blended approach as you can see high-resolution static AND dynamic shadows nearby as well as great shadows on distant objects. On top of that the game makes use of a pretty impressive grass shader that's been popularized by games like the legend of zelda breath of the wild which responds to wind, the player's interactions AND shadows.

Finally, on a 16gb computer Windows itself takes up 6 GB of which 702 MB is currently being compressed (2GB uncompressed, note: Browser, Discord, Steam were all closed). Tests show that Windows 10(x64) minimum is 2 GB but is only really usable with mutliple programs (i.g Browser, Discord, Steam) open at around 4 GB. This is excluding running a game.

So TLDR; no the game isn't using ONLY dynamic lighting, no baked lighting isn't better as its resolution is lower but does allow for things like baked GI, these graphics do justify the ram usage seeing the tech and engine used and 8 GB isn't a lot because this takes the recommended OS (Windows 10 x64) in consideration too.

Additional Notes: These are preliminary system specs that can and will change!
